I does anyone know why the music in Daggerfall will not play when I have the music slider all the way up.

Did you setup your sound card?

Be sure you did, by running the setup executable in the DAGGER directory (yes, it's a DOS program too).

Use either SoundBlaster 16 (less tracks but older and more nostalgic) or MPU-401 (general midi, a lot more tracks as well). Others aren't guaranteed to work and may result in no music playing for your game.

I prefer general midi myself for music. :whisper:

Ended up using the MPU-401 and switching the settings in Windows to use a software FM synth. It sounds nicer in most cases than the FM chip from the SB16 (instruments with far more operators) but it still sounds like game music. Just about anything sounds nicer than the Microsoft one.
