Script Errors fixed in Patches?

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 6:33 pm

Hey, I was reading UESP, studying locations for potential future mods and I came across the Dagon Fel "The End of the World" Inn and Pub-like establishment with a pawnbroker instead of a publican. It has rooms to rent but rents none of them, not having either a publican or the scripting on the beds.

I noticed this is true even after applying the 1.6.5 MPP patch, which I thought would clear it up for sure.

My question is, is there a well known patch that fixes the plethora of scripting errors and provides common-sense bug-fixes? I'm really surprised that for the length of time that the MPP project has been going it doesn't fix something like this.

MPP *is* "a well known patch that fixes the plethora of scripting errors and provides common-sense bug-fixes". There's no other patch this exhaustive and there probably won't be. If there's a bug that you believe should be fixed, and the patch doesn't do it, it means one of two things - either it didn't attract anyone's attention before, including multiple players, so you just have to be the first and mention it in their WIP thread, or it was discussed and decided that this particular bug should *not* be fixed for some reason, and then you're out of luck.

And what do you mean by "not having scripting on the beds"? All beds have standard scripting. Renting is done through *doors*, and since there's neither an unique door in End of the World Renter Rooms, nor in a list of doors whatsoever, nor an unique script for such a door if it existed, it was probably decided that having beds for free in Dagon Fel was intended by Bethesda and should not be fixed.

I assumed as much.

Also, I just looked and the beds in the Balmora, Eight Plates, and you're right about the scripting. I must have not been paying attention or something :facepalm:

If you're interested in rooms, NoM adds rentable rooms to the End of the World tavern and to other towns that were overlooked (intentionally or not) in the original game. It also gives you the chance to rent rooms for more than 1 day at discounted prices.

For beds there is also this mod;
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1238
It adds rentable beds to several places that didn't have them.
