I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit of a physics really devoted fan. Physics; Discuss:

I voted for all the advanced ones. I'm fascinated by simulated physics, especially Euphoria and the like.

Do you think a concerted effort should be made in the area of physics?

Yes, physics is important and should be crafted into gameplay.

What degree of physics should be implemented?

Full fire (with burnt textures) and basic fluid/wave physics. More destructive environment (trees, barricades). Cloth physics

Ragdoll deaths:

Behavior algorithms should be used to strike a balance between ragdoll and prescripted animation (Euphoria).

What physics based spells would you like to see?

All of the above.

Well, I hope we won't be seeing any of the "sit down on a chair and a plate goes flying across the room" Oblivion physics...

Physics are nice but I prefer a subtler implementation. If it's brought to the forefront it begins to feel gimmicky and I don't want to encounter "move objects around so you don't step on the sand and disturb the antlions!" scenarios.

As long as the physics are as good as it is in Half-Life 2 I'd be happy with it. Just touching a table shouldn't cause all of the items on it to go flying randomly across the room.

I know, Valve has physics spot on. Completing Dark Messiah is what inspired me to start the poll.

RDR had some awesome death animations and physics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx1-jGR4Ado&feature=fvst

At this point, I dont think there is much excuse NOT to have better physics in a game. That said, they should do as much as they can, in this order of priority.

1) Gravity and Weight/Ragdoll Physics for all weapons, bodies, objects (no "cemented objects which are non-interactive, except for scenery and massive objects)
2) Object collision physics. (If you throw an object, it knocks an opponent back with real force; walking through grass will move it aside; the wind blows branches realistically, etc...)
3) Real snow/rain/fog, etc...(as opposed to pre-rendered particles which are not affected by the environment. However, this is graphics intensive and not many engines can do it well)
4) Water physics (objects floating realistically, ripples/splashes....and if possible--water currents--real fluid physics)
5) All other effects: fire, smoke, etc...

Wind blast should be called gust.

Just sounds better.

And I've waited alog time for a wind spel, I wonder if they have them?

Some physics-related puzzles like in HL2 are a nice variation from the rest of the gameplay, and I wouldn't mind if they added something like that to certain dungeons.

I hope they the most incredible physics they could possibly make... I hate how in most games you can barely interact with the enviroment (CoD, Halo, etc.)

I'd like to see some cloth physics, but judging from the screens, its still the same-old-same-old pinned clothes from Morrowind and Oblivion. A spell to blow people and things away would be cool too, as well as enhanced telekinesis.

This.^

I just want more realistic physics for moving objects around with grab. Craftybits needs this to feel integrated and because of OB's wonky physics CB will never feel right in that game. Also why there is no Craftbits in FO3. In fact fourthgeek even came back to do it and disappeared again after finding the physics hadn't changed. I'm holding out great hope that they have improved this significantly.

Halo has some of the best physics in the business...

Speedtree has tree physics and everything, so it'd be awesome if you could chop down trees and craft. And after a month or so, they've grown up again.

I'd say Summon Water was fairly self-explanatory. It would put fires out etc. If they got fluid physics right you could fill a room with water and drown stuff or use it to swim up higher, but I think that would be a step too far aha :D
