Question about Silencers / Suppressors...

As every other player, the bots would -in theory- see the blood splatter on their screen. So even if they don't see you poppin up on the minimap, they knew from which direction you're shooting them, when using a silenced weapon.
Now on a lower difficulty-setting, the bots will probably ignore the blood-splatter for the most part, just like most players do.
However, on the highest difficulty-setting, I expect them to use this information to use it against a player. Obviously they should not turn around and instantly start shooting at you, but after they have "scanned" the general area they should be able to figure out where you are; again, just like real skilled players.

I don't know if you ever played Black ops, but in combat training on the hardest difficulty it is halfway impossible to do anything. You can be hiding behind a wall and pop up for a second and be head shotted. On the kill cam the AI was turned the opposite direction and instantly locked onto you. I would just hope it is not like that.

Ya, well, I was talking about how the bots could be done, not how other games created them.

After all, the bots in Counterstrike would soundwh-re you across the map, which made them a free kill if you were walking and get you killed instantly if you were moving at a normal pace.

If anything suppressors will work at a certain distance, IRL it would depend on the caliber, type of cycling action, type of primer used, and the "can" itself.

MGS is not a good way to see suppressors, they do not need to be thrown away after 30-40 shots, hell there is even http://www.subguns.org/products/covers/ for suppressors that reduce the heat on the suppressor as you are firing. If anything if you are firing a rifle caliber weapon within 30 meters, the bullet traveling should be heard but not put on the map, pistol caliber weapons within 5 meters should do the same. what will more than likely be heard when using the suppressor is the bolt retracting and slamming as you are firing.
