( Here we go!)
Chapter 1: The D.C Welcome Wagon
Capital Wasteland, Northern D.C wastes, N.C.R 3rd Ranger Division, August 28th, 2279, 8:00AM
The scorching sun of the wasteland, which to many was unbearable, was nothing for the 3rd Ranger Division, who had braved the fiercest of heat under fire from all sort's of creatures and people. Slaver's, the Master's Remnant, New Reno gang's and all were defeated, and the N.C.R banner had been held high up to that point. Word had come only a month ago that the N.C.R made contact with Sarah's splinter Brotherhood group. Talk's were attempted, but every time the N.C.R opened a channel, Sarah's men would only announce infringement upon Brotherhood radio signals. Flare's are running, the 3rd Division spearheading the assault into what was known as Old Olney. Their mission is to set up a base of operations within the Northern Wastes, and to take out Sarah Lyon's from the East Coast B.O.S's leadership.
John, one of the few veteran's of the N.C.R and Slaver War, was busy checking an old, dusty map; attempting to sort out what every little scribble on it meant. John was a man of little patience, and was about to burst when one of his men tapped him on the shoulder.
" Sir, we've got bearing's on what look's like a settlement. Do you want us to go inspect it?"
John was already annoyed by the fact that he was lost, but even more that his men didn't realize it.
" Send three men to check it out. If you get shot, well, let's just say that I said so." John cynically remarked.
" Yes Sir!!" The trooper replied.
John then ignored him as the man began looking for a small squad to join him. Within moment's three eager youth's from what looked like the Hub joined him, leaving the group. John simply halted everyone and gave them the signal to break and rest. A D.C wastelander would probally marvel at three people gathering near a road, but would more likely faint at the sight of 300 heavily armed soldier's just sitting down and passing drink's and pure water.

Capital Wasteland, Northern Wastes
Paladin Finley grinned as he saw the small figures of three men in N.C.R Ranger armor.
" Just three bastard's to inspect the waste's? What a pile of crap. Someone had to send something else, like tech, or vehicles! Initiate Roy, what do you have on your binoculars?"
The initiate from behind him slowly stood up and crawled to Finley's position, dully stopping before hitting the rock Finley was leaning on.
" S-Sir, we've got bearing's on a large group west of where these three came from. The knight say's that they number over 100....should we flank them or intercept the recon team?"
Finley slapped his fist against his forehead, not realizing he was in full power armor coverage.
" Initiate, do you think a squad of 30 had a chance against an army of over 100?! Sometime's I really question why Sarah bother's with recruits......"
The Initiate gave a quite mutter, returning back to his place in the foothill.
" Alright boy's, I want this nice and clean, intercept the recon team and screw anyone up that does not comply. Roger that?"
The small platoon of initiate's and knight's simply saluted, giving a generic " Yes Sir"
Finley was about to lay off the rock when one of the initiate's head's popped.
" Aw crap......."

Capital Wasteland, Northern Wastes
Mutant Overlord Kogar let out a roar as the tiny human's from afar began scurrying.
" Let them feel the full might of the true masters of this land! Charge my brothers!!!"
The yellow horde he lead, composing of 40 brute's armed with various rifle's and missile launcher's also let out a roar, charging with medieval religious fervor. The Brotherhood platoon from afar was already busy hurling back bullet's and laser streak's, doing little but down 3 mutants. The horde was almost unstoppable as Kogar led the charge, lifting his hand's to reveal a large Super Sledge, covered with modified rail spikes dipped in Radscorpion poison.
" Time to die!!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paladin Finley and his platoon began to disperse as the mutant charge finally buckled against a measly wall of brave initiates. Finley continued firing round's from his AE-R9 rifle when he heard more shouting to his Northwest. He ignored it and continued firing, watching as his initiate's and knight's took position's around the nearby rock's, firing and taking down 5 more mutants.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John stood upon a high rock, simply raising his hand. The N.C.R's mortar division's were a costly but incredibly effective investment, and within moment's of John's signal, began raining fire on both the supermutant's and the Brotherhood. Funny enough, he noticed from afar slight difference's in the Master's mutant's and these.
" Eh, they're all the same, just ugly."
John grabbed his Wattz 2043B radio, calling the mortar strike off.
" Alright men, Sgt. Vasquez, I want you to lead squad's 1 and 5 into the small field of rock's right to the East of that hill, wait for them to scatter.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paladin Finley was amazed when he saw little bomblet's falling from the sky, blowing apart initiate and mutant in a gory masquerade.
" To the east, to the east you idiot's!!"
With his now meager force of 15, Finley began to direct his men into the east, where John's prediction was foretold. The supermutant's in tail, Finley ran as fast as he could, hoping he wouldn't lose any other initiate's in this fiasco. As luck had it, Finley came under laser fire from the Northeast, where the previously ignored Ranger's now took the opportunity to pick his men off one by one; yet before he could contemplate Sarah's punishment, a lucky Ranger found his mark on Finley's power armor nuclear power pack of microfusion cells.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vasquez was simply grinning when he saw a large white mushroom cloud where the enemy force's had been, watching and waiting for any sign's of movement from the enemy. 3 mutant's appeared from the mist, charging madly with bloodlust. Vasquez simply yawned and waved his hand, watching as the three hulking figure's were cut down in less than a second. Pulling out his radio, he simply laughed.
" Like the firework's?"
" Just like a Shi New Year's, good job. Let's check up on that settlement, they're probably panicking about what just happened."
" Sure, I've got all the time in the world. I'll see you there."
Vasquez and his men simply walked away from the scene, like ghost's of the night.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Super Mutant Overlord Kogar simply stood still, both of his leg's mauled from the explosion.
" I have failed the grand General, but I will not fail in honorable death!"
Kogar took out a small grenade from his leather pouch and pulled the pin, grinning as he laid back his head.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John flinched as he heard an explosion from afar; moment's later watching as little chunk's of mutant remain's began bouncing off the rock's like jelly beans.
" I already miss Shady Sands...."
The grunt from the recon patrol, half dazed, half excited, smiled.
" So do I.......Iguana?"
John took the edible and began chewing hastily, hoping to savor every last moment of the nostalgic meal.
" Where to, sir?"
" We're going to take a small trip and vist our neighbors from the East."
The division mobilized once more at John's signal, marching in perfect formation. A drastic contrast to the Brotherhood's rather unpleasant employment method's. John, being the Ranger he was, simply marched on, wondering when he would get to move back home. Where civilization is.....civilization, hehe, who am I kidding.
