I found an epic item in a locked chest

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 5:04 pm

Yesterday I was doing a quest involving getting into a dark cave. As I wandered around I got a bit curious (I haven't peeked into any kind of chests for months, literally, coz I have 800,000 septims) I opened a Hard locked chest.

Do you know what I found?

Boots of Olympian

Yes, the same Boots of Olympian I literally cheated to get (I add it by console) because the goddang original owner of the goddang thing is so good at Sneak it's almost impossible to steal it from him

And I found it in a chest in a dark, damp, forgotten cave

FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU @#$%&!*

I guess a better thief stole it and hid it there?

Which NPC has those? I always find those in random loot. And I have three pairs.

The Boots of the Olympian are randomly placed generic magical apparel, you could have found them just about anywhere with any luck. ;)

You could always try and mug him (paralyze spell). If that doesn't work, try some disintegrate armor spells and then mug him (not sure if it will work though).

Or at least, I usually manage to mug his shortsword from him, with a little work.

Lol. The Oblivion game does have the habit of doing that to do.

However, the fortify is fairly weak anyway. If it was the Boots of the Atronach, then perhaps....

I've had a similar situation, I got the Mundane ring as part of a main quest, than many lvls later, I find it in a little box inside a ruin...I was so angry that you can't wear two copies of the same item.

Yeah well... I didn't know it's a generic item. I mean, the one who has it is quite an important (and kinda awesome, depending on how you see a Leader of all Thieves) person, I thought it's a fixed, one-of-a-kind, epic item. I tried so hard to get it: chameleon, invisibility, all kinds of stuff!

And after all that hardship Oblivion presented it to me in a cave filled with nothing but imps? After I have reached level 42? What The Oblivion?

Well, technically you can just take it from him and run away, but I want it in a sneaky way! He wouldn't has it any other way, now would he?
