I was wondering how people would feel, hypothetically, about the idea of a new TES game that's a direct sequel to an existing one, either DF, MW, or Oblivion, take your pick.
I was thinking similar in style to how the Baldur's Gate series works, in that you retain your god-like stats, abilities and possibly equipment from the previous game, but you're facing off against incredibly powerful opponents. Skill cap could go up to 200, or even higher if required, more powerful enchantments (beyond what is already in place) could happen, and awe-inspiring spells could be put in place.
I guess what I feel is missing the most from every TES game I've played is the art of the truly epic battle. It happens infrequently, if at all, and while it can be satisfying when it does, it's still far too rare. It'd be cool to see opponents that are designed to match up against a level 30 character with a Daedric Dai-Katana that does a ton of magical damage, or to have insanely powerful artifacts for sale that are worth the player gathering tens of thousands of gold for. I remember Bloodmoon did this to an extent, but I'm talking even further.
Anyway, I highly doubt that Bethesda would ever make a game like this anytime soon, but I thought it'd make for a cool hypothetical discussion. What do you think? More high level challenges?
