Agility Past 100

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:01 pm

Okay, I'm aware that increasing attributes past 100 has benefits, but I'm unsure about the specifics regarding agility. According to UESP, your chance of being knocked down decreases when agility is increased past 100, but obviously this is something very difficult to observe/determine. It's pretty clear that a character with 30 agility gets knocked down a lot less than one with 100. Comparing a character with 100 agility and another with 140 is much more difficult. Can anyone confirm?

My experience is that the "chance of ..." comes and goes. Meaning for a while I get staggered almost constantly by everything, then for a while not at all by anything,,,
I absolutely hate being staggered, so many times in my fury I increase my agility with a 100 or so  ... But I still get staggered every now and then, but I think less often.
But as you say, it is very difficult to determine.

I am very skeptical that it's been proven that agility above 100 reduces stagger chances.

In fact on the discussion for that page that claim is questioned, without any adequate defense:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion_talk:Agility#Agility_past_100

It is very possible that wiki claim is wrong.

Hate being staggered as well and has made spells that increases agility by 100, but have not noticed chances being reduced

At 100 or more agility haven't noticed a difference I tend to get staggered or knocked down easily by war hammers. Not so often by claymores but it happens from time to time, and very rarely a bow knocks me down.

Im pretty sure that nothing except for acrobatics and athletics are affected past 100 skill wise, and im sure the same would apply to attributes as well

Not true, Intelligence above 100 continues to build your magicka. Strength above 100 adds the correspoding percentage to your melee damage. Endurance continues to increase your health when above 100.

I'm sure Attributes has positive effects above level 100, however, I'm not sure that all attribute perks (Such as reduced staggering or Armor ratings) are applied when raised above 100.

You are right about skills but you're wrong about attributes.

Most or all attributes have benefits above 100.

Strength - More Fatigue (aka Stamina) and increased encumbrance limit, but no additional weapon damage
Agility - More Fatigue, unclear about affect on sneak, lockpicking and staggering
Intelligence - More magicka
Endurance - More health and fatigue
Willpower - Faster Magicka regen, except for Atronachs of course, and more Fatigue
Speed - faster movement
Personally - Maybe a higher disposition, but it doesn't matter much
Luck - over 100 affects some misc things like Mehrunes Razor and Arena bettng

more stamina = more damage..... since the more stamina you have the more damage you do with power attacks. At least I think it does!

the effect of stamina reduces your damage by (1- fatigue/max fatigue) percent. In other words, it's the ratio of your remaining stamina and max stamina that affects damage. You won't hit better on your first hit, but I guess you would hit a bit better than usual on subsequent hits as the ratio decreases less.

Sorry for the triple post. I had some bad lag

I've used cheats to put my character's agility to 255 and I haven't noticed any reduction in the amount of staggering. 100 or 255 agility, to my observations, leave your character staggering the same amount (no difference). I think what determines the staggering factor is more what other people have said in the past, it depends on how much damage the foe does on that one strike. The harder the hit, the more likely you're to get staggered.
