Home away from Home...

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 5:43 pm

I was planning on a making sort of "Home away from Home" like a safe house so that I don't have to keep going back to Megaton in times of peril. BUT I've been having trouble finding a reliable candidate. I thought that maybe the Abandoned Car Fort would be good but I cant sleep because of the nearby Mirelurks. Every place I find there's either lack of storage, bad sleeping conditions, or nearby enemies. Anybody know of a good place?

I know what you mean, it seems like every non-official house is too unlivable because of enemies, ugly corpses lying around, or lack of decent storage.

One good place I'd reccomend is the bunk room in Farragut West Metro Station. None of the enemies there respawn, there's no skeletons or icky mutilated corpses hanging from the ceiling, and it has some good storage spots and shelves to use. There's even a computer terminal on the desk that can lock and unlock a nearby safe to store your gear.

Me personally I perfer the Tenpenny Tower Suite just because it feels like a real comfy place to live and it's really safe from the hellish wasteland.

The Mechanist's Forge (in the Robot Repair Center after Superhuman Gambit quest): A workbench, decent bed, plenty of storage. Plus there's a long hallway with those folding mechanical doors, so everytime you go home, it's like you're in the Get Smart intro.

The only thing I hate about the Tenpenny Tower Suite is that it's the only room without a bathroom.

I believe that after completing a certain quest to it's total completion, you can stay at The Weatherly Hotel in Rivet City for free. Maybe it's a glitch, but after completing the quest, I haven't had to pay for a room there.

Reileys Rangers compound is an excellent DC based safehouse if you do that quest. (:
