Fallout 1, tactics and 2, 20$. Worth it?

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 12:57 am

Okay, so I was at a store and I saw a box set of Fallout, fallout Tactics, and Fallout 2.

Now, I am a huge fallout fan from just 3 and New Vegas, so as a fan who joined the party late, in an unbiased opinion, is it worth it to dish out the 20$ to get these games?

They're great games, but the gameplay is basically nothing at all like Fallout 3 or New Vegas. If you like the story and the setting, it's a no brainer. I think they're totally worth that much and more.

They were worth it for me. I bought the same package on steam. However, only you know how well you can see past the outdated graphics. Look up a few clips on youtube and then decide if the outdated feel of the games doesn't bother you. If it doesn't, 1 and 2 are definitely worth it. (Haven't looked at tactics yet)

Never too late to try out the classic. That say, keep in mind that Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 was made many years ago, its NOT FPS/RPG but more a turn based with isometric graphics. Its heavy on the lore, story, and choices.

You could give the Fallout 1 Demo a try. http://download.cnet.com/Fallout-demo/3000-7539_4-10008318.html

Thats the problem I am having. On one hand I LOVE fallout and want to explore all of it, on the other hand, I've never been a huge fan of that style of gaming, even when it was the norm, I played duke Nukem alot because it was one of the first in its class, as well as final fantasy. So the fps/rpg thing in 3 and NV is great. I'm trying to determine if the goods outweigh the bads as far as will I stay interested long enough to get my moneys worth.

No... Not from there ~unless its an actual http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/Fallout19971.jpg (which this isn't)

Try http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/fallout and get the first Fallout, and see if you like it (with the side effect that it should work just fine with no graphical problems).

Hmm, i was gonna ask the same question, saw the fallout pack at store, about 16 euros. I have played fallout 1 and 2 alot (not to the death though), and i'm kinda interested in tactics. Is it really so bad as people say?
