Recommended Lore to Read

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 1:33 pm

Hi everyone. I'm actually quite curious in learning about the entire ES series up till now. I've played through Morrowind and Oblivion more than once, but never any of the earlier games unfortunately. I'm just curious if anyone can direct me to some good reading to fill in the gaps in any important early history I may be missing out on. Of course the easiest way to remedy this would be to play all the early games, but honestly I don't find anything beyond Morrowind appealing in the aesthetic sense, so I'd most likely lose interest quite fast.

Any direction would be much appreciated. I just want to make sure I'm all caught up as much as possible once Skyrim comes out so I can appreciate it in all its glory. I also plan on playing through Morrowind and Oblivion once again, so it's mostly any previous lore that I'm interested in.

Thanks.

Children of the sky is a good book, not too much lore in it, but perfect and simple about some of the features in Skyrim and the nords

Off the top of my head:

Warp in the West - Vague description of Daggerfall's conclusion
The Real Barenziah - Arena Intro

I agree with Children Of The Sky. It would be a great read in preparation for Skyrim. Really interesting stuff, and very simple.
