I need a heightmapper (I tried myself...) for a project that I'm developing. a few facts (if anyone is interested) you should know:
-The landmass planned is x2.5 the size of Cyrodiil.
-I am willing to wait as long as it takes.
-I will need to see previous work to determine if I'm impressed with your work or not.

NOTE: I tried myself to heightmap and it didn't work out for the best, I am willing to learn myself how to heightmap well but the truth is that I just don't have time to learn extra things. (currently I'm serving in the army, I barely have time to work on this project but I'm willing to invest it, cause I believe so much in this project and I believe it will turn out great.

NOTE: A few old pics of my project, I changed it a lot since then:

Not sure if he is still active, but give http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/user/330773-noble-spearman/ a PM. He is an excellent landmass creator and has released some of them (so you can see his work) http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=75691 and http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=User.EntriesListing&id=142389. He goes by MooCow, MooTheCow, etc.

I'm not much of a heightmapper, and wouldn't have time for it anyway, but the screens are great! What mod is this?

This is a project I'm currently working on, it's a total conversion.
the mod takes place in Aminaadeille, a land within constant war, ruled by a kingdom called Wolvynrain that owns about 60% of the continent, there are small forces of resistance including the main force of resistance: the city of Geradus, the city is hidden between mountains and works uncover, but it has strong warriors and assassins that work along with it.
As the main character you find yourself brought to a refugee camp, there you are being recruited to Geradus's army, thing is if you choose to you can also join Wolvynrain's army.

That's pretty much the main plot, putting aside lots of details.
Important to remember that there are no "bad guys" or "good guys" only interests and ideals, and that's the principle that guides me throughout this mod while developing it.

thing is I want to have all the landscape done at first (I have a map ready, and a very good one too :D) and then it'll go much faster and will be much easier to work on this mod and finish it the best way that I can. (with help of course)

EDIT: this mod has nothing to do with Oblivion, it takes place in a new worldspace and thus have nothing to do with The Elder Scrolls lore.

If you own a copy of SimCity 4, you can use its map editor to make heightmaps and use them elsewhere. They're just bitmaps. It has a great variety of tools to make different kinds of mountains, valleys, etc.

There's also SC4 Terraformer and SC4 Mapper, which are standalone programs for making heightmaps. If you google them you'll be taked to a site called BSC LEX, where you have to log in to see a download link. SC4 terraformer is very impressive.
