The world of Brink is so self contained that it could in theory be the same storyline, since there's no way to say for sure that there couldn't be a giant vessel floating around in the pacific ocean.

But, I don't believe there is any intention to have the two stories related, they just happen to both use the term "Ark" because it conjures to mind Noah's Ark that just barely stopped all life on earth from dissapearing. The "Ark" in both Rage and Brink does something similar. Using verbal imagery like this is a way to add more implications to the game while avoiding adding narration.

Besides, they are both made by different developers. Bethesda is the publisher for both, but are not involved in writing the storylines.

Wow, the Rage game looks like a total rip-off of Borderlands.

I realize opinions vary, but I think you'd at least better check your numbers a bit. I don't any game that sells so many units and DLC, receives awards, and averages a ~9 rating could really be called "bad" by any stretch. I thought it was a great game, and I played it for over a year.

Just because a game has big numbers doesn't make it good, look at Halo. Let's break down what Borderlands actually was; a generic FPS RPG with a half-assed driving system. I'll agree that I enjoyed the game for a little bit but by the time I reached the end of the game it had become completely monotonous and to top it off the ending was about as good as a slap to the nuts.

I agree wit hyou on the first part but not on this case. umm... yeah it was a FPS with RPG elements...ok... the driving system was just DIFFRENT like BRINK is going to be DIFFRENT. it was actually a better system for teh close navigation. The game only became monotone because it took long to beat (doign all misionss and side missions) so you got to know every part of the game. The Ending could have used a little bit of work, i mean the first boss (guy you kill for the car thing) was harder. and the glitches accounted for alot, and the easy hacking. BUT borderlands was an amazing game and...my first platinum :trophy: :') and a slap on ths nuts in the right position with the right force :goodjob:

I don't see how you could argue it's "different like Brink" because BRINK actually has a well thought out and executed movement system where as Borderlands driving was like steering an RC car, it felt extremely tacked on. Granted some missions were interesting but the vast majority were not and in my mind I'd rather have less missions so long as they're interesting than 100 of the same rehashed objectives.

I enjoyed Borderlands, played it solidly for a month straight. Just getting back into it now, too. What's Rage about, anyway? Adverts on GameFAQs intrigued me, but I never took the time to look anything up.

As for OP, who knows. Seems likely that there could be another Ark or Ark-like structure.

Iirc, Borderlands was announced after RAGE, though.
