It's been years since I've been a PC gamer and I want to get back into it. I was thinking of getting a "budget" gamer PC and was wondering what would be a good configuration or general guides to a decent laptop that can run fallout3 and f3:Las Vegas. It doesn't have to be the prettiest graphics, but I would like it to run at a decent frame rate.

Any suggestions on specific models/brands and hardware?

Stay away from Alienware, how much are you willing to spend?

Ideally, I'd like to spend less than a grand, US. Do you think it would be feasible to get something around $500 or is that shooting for the sky?

That's shooting for the sky if a laptop is what you want. Look more towards at least $700 for something decent.
