So what do you think? Should fallout 1, 2, and tactics be on DS and PSP? For my opinion, YES! That would be freaking sweet if they brought it to DS and PSP! what do you think? vote and leave a comment on why you want or don't want fallout 1, 2, and tactics on DS and PSP.

I said no because that is a pretty big port from computer to a handheld console. Plus the games are far more complex to be played on such a thing and is best played on a computer as with a computer you have more options to play with because on a little handheld console you would have to create a new system for the skills, combat, sneaking, stealing etc. Because of all these factors these games are massive and are a couple hundred megabytes in size. (like Fallout 2 which is 600 megabytes, Fallout 1 is 10 and Fallout Tactics is 700) I don't know if handheld consoles can support that much data in the first place. Trust me you would have an easier time being on the computer.

The fallout gams are long games, whereas Hendheld consoles excel at short gaming sessions. That, and the interface not being easily transferable and the lack of a need for it makes this a huge no.

Now a Fallout game specifically made for the DS would be better.

I still wouldn't play it, but it would make more sense.

I think it's an excellent idea. Tweak the interface a little and make it more amenable to shorter burts of play a la the DS remakes of the FInal Fantasy games and it'd definitely be a goer.

There are literally hundreds of JRPGs on the DS, games that expect a 40 hour+ commitment, so to say that handhelds only do "dip in, dip out"-style games simply isn't true. The last Dragon Quest game wan't even released on a home console, but was on the DS instead.

edit: lol at the idea that decade-old PC games are too much for the hardware to handle.

Made my day :D

I think it would be a great Idea to make a fallout game for the DS using fallout 1 and 2's graphics, but it doesn't have to be 1 or 2, I would play the [censored] out of that, the only way I can stand non-home console graphics such as halo, fallout 3, or soul calibur, is on the DS. I haven't played fallout 1 or 2 because I don't think I'd get used to playing what looks like a GBA game on my computer that isn't a ROM. Pip boy on the bottom screen along with chat options and vats (if they include it) It's like a perfect Fit!

I think having the originals available on handhelds is a great idea. Could introduce hundreds of thousands to millions to the world of fallout.

On a pc the originals are pretty dated, on handhelds they're a perfect level of graphics.

Edit: Who says games for the DS has to be crappy Japanese shovelware?

I'm not saying that handlhelds only do drop-in drop-out games, I'm saying thats what they excel at - Why accept the compromises required to work on a handheld?

'Cause there are plenty of gamers who play on handhelds and not PCs. Loads of 'em. Obviously it wouldn't primarily be for those who've played it on PC already.

It would be awesome, especially if it was along the lines of the Final Fantasy Tactics port to PSP where they cleaned up the game and added a few new things.

I have the classic pack and theres so many frustrating things, broken dialogue, glitches, and broken quests.

Also the stylus of the DS would work fine for Fallout.

Also adding to the LOL, serious Fallout 1 could be beaten in 20 minutes and completed in an hour or two to get everything.

So these hardcoe, mature gamers are big fallout fans but havent bought a PC since 1999? I think the numbers are a lot less than you think - definately not enough to pay for it.

The game can be beaten in an hour or two if you know the game inside out, but the game cannot be Played in an hour or two.

I do think that having fallout games on DS would be a good idea IMO I just don't think those would be a good fit for it though, it's not a bad idea though

A largely revised version gameplay-wise, maybe. But not the classic classics.

HOWEVER, I think that Fallout could be really well executed on the 3DS.
