Graphics Card Confusion

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 5:44 pm

I recently went on System Requirements Lab to see if my computer could run Left 4 Dead and Oblivion. Everything checks out except the graphics card, where I get http://i54.tinypic.com/n5mqsp.png. What I don't get is that I have sufficient RAM, I have 3D, Hardware T&L, and acceptable Pixel and Vertex Shader versions.

So why is my graphics card inadequate?

'Cause it's crap. :P

No, really. The Intel 4 Series Express Chipset is not designed for modern gaming - which is why your report says those games won't run. The solution? Buy a better laptop. Or a desktop PC.

So even if the graphics card can handle the game, it's useless if it's not designed for gaming?

It can't handle the game.

Pretty much all modern graphics cards meet those specifications, but the performance greatly varies depending on the speed/quality of the card.

Oh, okay. Ah, well, thanks for the help (that's directed at everyone who responded, not just Nami).

You don't even have a graphics card. You have an integrated chipset.
