What should I buy?

Ok I decided to look around on Newegg at their pre-built PC's and found http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227317. However im curious as to whether its a better deal than building the PC I want to build which is this

Case-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119225
CPU-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727
GPU-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102914
RAM-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145284

didnt list all of the part but those are the essential ones im looking at and comparing.

my entire build will cost $1382, and the pre-built one is $1399. What caught my eye is that the pre-built one is basically the same in its specs except it comes with a hexa-core processor and my build only comes with a quad-core. The pre-build one also comes with a Blu-ray disc reader, mine doesnt. However it doesnt tell me what exact brand of graphics card or RAM it has so im a little skeptical to buy it.

So I was wondering what you guys think is a better deal?

I think you picked out some horrendously overpriced RAM, unless I'm missing something. You could save money there and put it to a better processor. I guarentee you that the iBUYPOWER PC isn't using DOMINATOR RAM (whatever the hell that's supposed to mean). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231323 would do you just fine if you're intent on getting 8 gigs.

Thanks, I have a question though. Is buying a hexa-core processor worth it? because I coudl probably take the money and put it into a AMD Radeon HD 6970 instead.

EDIT: how about http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231311 ram, its the same as that one but its 2x4GB instead of 4x2GB. Gives me more room to add on if i wanted to.

Depends on what you're gonna do with it. If you are planning on some heavy-hitting multitasking, then you'll really enjoy a hex-core, but if you are in this for pretty much games, games, and more games you won't benefit from it. Most games don't have quad-core support, much less hex-core support

Oh and the reason I chose the Corsair Dominator RAM is because it's made to be used with AMD Phenom II black edition CPUs like the one im getting.

That doesn't really mean much at all. I'm using G.skill ripjaws and I guarantee you it plays just as nice with a Phenom II as that overpriced Dominator will. It's your money though, spend it however you'd like.

EDIT: Oh, and the 2x4GB is better. I wasn't paying attention when I posted earlier.

@g-ranger: He means what brand of graphics card, like Sapphire, MSI, Gigabyte, etc.

It has the exact same graphics card you're considering in your build, it's right there on the page.

The reason the Dominator RAM costs more is the really low CAS latency which is much better. Don't buy a 6970, just flash a 6950 and save your money. Most AM3+ motherbaords should be fine while you wait for Bulldozer.

For gaming, I have seen a quad core perform better, but if you are running video editing applications then the 6 core is the better buy. Also 8GB of RAM is overkill really, 4 is fine for games.
