I understand it's been a while, but what happened to the wise elders of the forum?

I don't see Dr. Strangelove anymore, I don't see Clockwork Oranges anymore, I don't see Lt. Pebbles, I don't see Pistolero, I don't see anunkownrandomghoul, and I don't see Metro, although I'm sure she's lurking around.

But earnestly, where the hell did everyone go? Is this community truly dead? God, I may have farced some RP's in my past, but this is just ludicrous! No activity, and if it is, it's by either Josh and his never ending series of New York spin-offs, or it's just independent fan-fics that have potential but die out in a moments notice.

What the hell? I expect at least some dedication from you all. It's no fun or pleasure in writing something that won't be read or even critiqued. God, I remember the massive bits of RP goodness that endured back in the day.......... Earnestly, put some backbone into it people!

I am deeply saddened by this thread.

In all sincerity, the members aren't to blame, but it's just the inactivity that kills me. I remember the ridiculous amount of threads that were consistent and active, and to try and eke out an existence as a notable writer is difficult all the more so due to just general apathetic attitude from most members.

Even in the bad times, I remember Dan77's Outcast RP, my Enclave Road Trip RP, and Dr. Strangelove's Canada Liberation RP. I will sorely miss those RP's....Especially the successful the Pitt RP...... :sadvaultboy:

It's not so often you stumble onto a RP goldmine every now and then......seem's like we hit the bottom of the bottle after a good few of us incurred the wrath of Rohugh.

Josh never posts! He hasn't posted on Mojave War in days! I have been trying to resurrect his RP, but its not looking good....

I've made fan fics and RPs, but i get bombarded by PMs about how "Un fallout-y" they are.

So i change them

I agree with Skirt here mate. We may not live up to your high standards but I'm pretty pleased with how our RP has been faring. There are new Fanfic writers too, before you slate the people who currently post you should check out the work of SentientSurfer or TheRealWolfman, I think you'll be surprised.

It's just sort of brutal to read a thread dedicated to how awful the "new stuff" is, when Kettle and I have tried to execute an organized, well thought out RP, and I personally didn't post any half-assed fics. Not to mention, some of us newbies are quite active. :/

Kettle, may i fiddle in, I do post a good Fan fic or something, i make Original ones, things that people wouldn't dream of in a Fallout universe. Why? Because you people have to rely on what Todd Williams or J.E. Sawyer or whatever [censored] at Bethesda or Interplay or Obsidian thinks up, I use real life incidents, like the Korean war or the Vietnam War, or maybe even the Chernobyl Incident. But apparently that's not good enough for you people. If that's the case, there's always third part places...

Now I'm annoyed. I specifically state that it is NOT the members fault. I am simply stating that I miss the old guard. IS THAT SO HARD TO COMPREHEND?

I'm sure Miller the Killer or FalloutFTW are still around..

I understand your efforts, but you go about it with a mere hint of salt. Strangelove and the others took a good hint of pride at their work, and never backed down. It is not the half-assed Fan-fics that exist, don't put words in my mouth, it is the sheer quantity of deserted fan-fics that saddens me. I was glad to see membership rise, but I don't see those community leaders I knew back then. None of the traits exist..... You insist you miss how much thought THEY put into their work, and I can say for damn sure that Kettle, SentientSurfer, Wolfman, and others are pretty proud of our work, and that we've spent a lot of time and effort on it as well...and yet we shouldn't take it personally that you completely disregard our work or effort.

It's hard to contact on this forums, damned time zones. I use xfire, but even thats frustrating, but better than this post- wait- see another post- post cycle. I've read Stranglove's work, that inspired me to make my RPs and Fan fics, but aparantly these "humans" don't like my works, if its not fallout like enough, it's not worded correctly or its not spaced properly or its too short, my god. Some of you people (none of which who I know of) take things for granted on these forums.

I have, and they've all gone under the radar.

Dr. Strangelove- In the military, won't be posting for quite a damn while.

Anunknownrandomghoul- Banned

Dan77- Doesn't care any more

Yttrium- Haven't seen him in a while.

Lt. Pebbles- Gone. Just left.

Pistolero- Modding New Vegas. He never really got into RP'ing.

Metro- Don't know.

What I can say is that my sig has stood the line for over three years, and I will keep it there as a reminder of who I was, and still am. A proud Enclave fanclubber, in good or wrong. I will not let the tradition die out like that.

...basically, this thread is spam, because your old friends don't post anymore, and you know why, but you thought you'd post this here to irritate those of us who are new and care. Right?

You annoy me to no end now. I was hoping that Ytt and some of the others would jump in and reply and at least confirm activity, but it was also meant to start up the message to people who quit their fan-fics too easily, don't drop the ball like that.

What frustrates me is that you jump in with seemingly benevolent mood, but then you smack aside the fact that I'm glad you did your fan-fics to the end, and I already gave encouragement to future endeavours. People like Infantry121 and Yttrium are the people I'm hoping would reply. If your attitude is simply raw assumption, then please don't post.

He's letting his anger out, which is understandable, most of the buddies he had on this hell hole aren't active anymore. To me, that's like a rush of blood to the head.

You should be more active frost, make a Fan fic, start a RP. Wouldn't you think Strangelove or Metro would rather you carry on their work than mourn their falling?

You are saying that the RPs that are going right now (which must include mine and Kettle's) are bottom of the bottle, that was offensive.



You state that we are half-assing our RP, and to us, we really not. You then get upset when I state that I am offended by this.



Then dig up the dying fics and post another comment to let the author know it's being read and you'd like to see more.

I apologize for being annoying, but myself and a few others are spending a lot of time on these forums these days, putting in a lot of effort to our fics and RPs, and as I have outlined above you ahve flat out said we aren't. So, yes, I am going to take this personally because a forum doesn't write, people/members do.

I am managing a fan-fic, but writers block is a pain.

Don't even dare act as if you understand my point.

A) WE hit the bottom of the bottle. That means WE fell into disarray and chaos. How the hell am I referring to any of you if they were still there?

B ) Because it is my opinion that they put true effort into their work. I don't read your work because I do not find it to my tastes, but I do not spam your thread to show discontent. This thread, once again, was dedicated to the above reasons in my other post.

C) Dig them up? What effect will that have? It is easier to pass a banner than go hunt down random people for what you see as a demotivational speech. I am merely calling them out. As I said, I already acknowledged your efforts, but you are FEW among many. You seem to be eager to start off a war between me and any newbie forum goer. I've already done my bit by aiding Infantry121 with his work, and I will assist when I can, but when I see people like you assuming I hate you in specificity, that annoys me.

Its fine to miss your old RPing pals, but this thread does not belong on this forum. It has become a list of complaints and flames. :nod:

Indeed it has. I'll just let the mods close this, or it can just rot and eventually fall into page two or three of the topic listings. That way, a fresh slate is there again. Back to the drawing board for plot.

Mr. Frost, you made a very sweeping generalization that there is no effort put in to the fics and RPs posted these days -- or, if you want to play it that way, that your old friends put in effort (I never said they didn't) but the new stuff is devoid of it. That's an offensive statement, so I called you out on it. That's all :/
