The elder scrolls is over

Post » Wed Mar 23, 2011 9:29 am

For each cave in all the elderscrolls games there are more prophesies written on the wall!
OK, maybe not, but maybe we don't have to focus on the prophesies? Why can't we goto the black marsh and be a normal person doing extraordinary things (typical RPG fare :( )?

There is a lot of demand for these games so it isn't over, not in the slightest!

First of all we've yet to play the game, im guessing the PC kills the dragon but beyond that we don't know a ton about the finer details of the story. Is skyrim the end of this particular story arc? well yes it is but it could easily spawn something new, i wouldn't speculate heavily untill we have more information or the game comes out.

Only five carved on some wall. There's plenty of actual scrolls.

That's true, we all saw that library. These are blind guys reading these too so, hey, maybe they didn't see something.

In the end, the series is about the world it's played in, and Nirn will still exist even after the prophecies have been fulfilled. They'll be able to continue if they want to.

I've always wondered, what is more powerful? The Elder Scrolls or Akatosh? Can Akatosh change events that have already happened even though they are set in the Elder Scrolls.

When you break Akatosh, the scrolls go blank, while the Amulet of Kings could still tell of what happened ("When the Moth priests attune the Scrolls to the timeless time their glyphs always disappear. The Amulet of Kings, however, with its oversoul of emperors, can speak of it at length." http://imperial-library.info/content/morrowind-where-were-you-when-dragon-broke). I would take that to mean Akatosh is more powerful, especially considering the Amulet comes from him.
