Geck warning sings

Post » Sat Mar 26, 2011 2:42 am

So, i recently started playing fallout again, and when i loaded fallout3.esm and brokensteel.esm in geck, i got the usual 3 to 5 warning sings.
BUT, whe i open an item, for example, assault rifle, i get average of 100 warning sings. (rounded to nearest ten)
same for Any item at ANY mod at ANY and all the time.

But, when i start fallout 3 and 40+ mods, not a single warning sing. WTF??

So, i can't mod fallout 3.

PS. i can't find that "enable yes to all" thing.

Please help.

I recall reading that a certain windows operating system - - vista maybe? - - does not give you a "yes to all" button for that stuff, but other ones (like my XP here) do. And when this happens, geck use is a serious problem, it really needs that yes-to-all button.

I don't know what was able to fix it for the people with this problem, if anything (not including OS replacement).

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but there's a bAllowYesToAll=1 entry in both the GECKCustom.ini and FALLOUT.INI.. ( in the [MESSAGES] section) perhaps this issue is caused by missing one/both of those entries, or maybe they're set to 0.

Yea its not vista, my old computer was vista and I modded with the GECK on that for like 6 months with no issues like the missing button. Its probably what Bonedog suggested.

I checked that and i have both files set to bAllowYesToAll=1.

I have heard that some people (non-english versions?) have a 'cancel' button instead of the 'Yes to all'. Do you have that one? If you only have two buttons, 'Yes' and 'No', then I don't know what to tell you...

Like the other respondents, its hard to know for sure without seeing. My recommendation is to pop-open your EditorWarnings.txt file in the Fallout3 directory and see what those errors are. Perhaps something is not installed right or something strange, but knowing what these 100+ new errors are will help.

When you edit stuff, are you using a plug-in as an active file with the master files referenced? Or are you trying to edit and save weapons right into the master without an Active file? Just curious here...

Ok, the cancel button solved it.
But, you see, Cancel means "peruuta" in our language and that can be translated to "go backwards"
so i did'nt see it as an option.

Cool! It seems that when translating into other languages (than the original English), some of the meanings were messed up a bit - me thinks.

As you say. And cancel is the most obvious option. Sometimes you have 3 options to cancel a warning : Ignore, ignore or ignore. I don't remember where I saw this exactly, I think it is in the navmesh editor. Very funny !
Usually, whatever it says the "yes to all" is the one on the right. The middle one closes the GECK and the left one just brings the next error.
