troubles with coordinates

could some one help me out trying to place a map inside the world map using th eoff set coordinates setting and i am a bit confused
looking at the world area's listed in the world spaces list i think i have figured out the falls churge is more or less the 0 spot in both n-s and the e-w location spotting
if i then calculated that arlington GY is located o the north and east with -4000 on the x and +8000 relatif on the y axes
and mason district is located to the south and east with 2132 on X and -22000 on th ey axes i get confused

the way i know see it is if i would give my own outdoor map the off set coordinates x=0,000 and Y= -3000 my map should be placed some where south of falls church and west of mason district?
is this correct?

i am implementing these changes right now wil post if its the way i calculated it so other modders can use the off set system to place there maps inside the rubble that is down town waschington dc in f3

afther testing those changes i did not show up on the pip boy map where i calculated i would looked as if the off set setting did not change my positioning at all same as before i umplemented the changes i the marker showing myself was positioned some where near the super duper mart so that is not the way to position a outdoor map into the word map

Hey. Can you type a little more clearly, it was a tad bit tough following what you are saying.

You are using the world map incorrectly. If you want your map markers and such within your worldspace to appear, you must have your worldspace have the wasteland as a parent worldspace. That why it uses the default map, and your stuff appears on it. I also think the numbers relate to what cell it is, so it shouldnt go over about 100 in any direction. The game is NOT 22000 cells tall. What the world map thing is for, is if you want your separate worldspace to have its own unique map, you make the map texture, then set the boundaries to the outer cells, and it makes it show that map when you look at the map section in the pipboy. If you look at most mods that add new worldspaces (islands, etc) if you look at the map its centered in the wasteland, and not actually a new map at all. The map settings allow you to fast travel around and look at the map for the custom worldspace. So if your worldspace is inside the wasteland, you do not want to use this feature at all. I hope this clears things up for you.

figured a few things out eventualy and now have 1 spot in the world map that is somewhere between the citadel and hubris commics on the world map found the spot by placing a few linked doors at seperate coordinates in my outside map and traveling thru them then checking where my pip boy marker shows up had hoped to not have to redo the whole scenery i created on spot 0-0?!
