FaceGen - At least I think it's that....

Post » Sun Mar 27, 2011 11:30 am

Hey all....

Well basically I've made this NPC in the CS but the ESP I made has become dirty so I'd like to know how to export the face and then import it onto a different NPC on a different ESP. Infact.... is this even possible? I 'think' it is.... But I'm unsure.

Thanks,

Can't you just clean the esp? TES4Gecko or Edit can do it.

Well it's just I'm a kind of neatness freak and there's tonnes of deleted crap listed there (Apart from the CS doesn't delete... it just sticks a *D after it :/). It's no problem I guess, just me being picky.

As he said ... use Tes4edit or Gecko ... they can do more than just put a *D after it :P

Anyways there is an export NPC faces option in the construction set .. though I have never used it. I believe it exports .fg (facegen) files ... which can then be imported back using Wyre Bash ... though it could be probably easier to copy the sliders exactly.

Umm, no... It exports face maps as .dds', and they can not be imported back. It's only purpose is that the game does not have to create the faces by itself, but instead it can load already existing faces from the hard-drive. The Export Faces exports all faces from the loaded ESMs (note; ESM - it can take some time to export all faces), together with the faces added by selected .ESPs.

You can copy character face by using the copy button in face advanced tab, which you'll find when you select NPC in NPCs list.
When you have copied NPC's face
- load/create your esp.file
- create character which is same race as original
- paste face in face advanced tab
Remember that only face will be copied, not the hair, eyes or other information.

The CS does delete things. It will mark the object with a *D so that you know you've deleted it, but the next time you load your esp in the CS, those items will be gone. Just delete the objects, save your esp, exit and reload - the objects will be gone. You may still wind up with dirty edits, so your esp should always be cleaned even if you think there aren't any.
