Staying with fallout 3

I would've normally said New Vegas but the bugs is just unacceptable so I'll pick Fallout 3.

I.E. I'm making my way to Prim from a rather unusually angle, and it finally comes in my view. I got to jump over some rocks and I'm abruptly stopped by an invisible wall. It forces me to walk all the way around. And even once I got stuck in these invisible barriers causing me to have to kill myself. I just wish I could go where I wanted to go. And I'm not saying it's completely linear, it's just more limited then Fallout 3.

Yeah, the ivisible walls are the biggest problem I had with NV but overall they're both great games. In FO3 I liked being able to recognize all of the locations (Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Chevy Chase, etc) In NV it was cool to deal with your reputations in different places and between different factions.(Just to give examples of +'s)

I'm done with FNV. I am staring to mod some of the better models in FNV into FO3 (like the mutants) and the armors. I like the FO3 settings better. The dialog, I see some folks sing the praises of the FNV dialog, I didn't think it was all of that... don't know about the "better writing" in FNV either, didn't think it was that great or better than FO3.

lol, I thought dogs only ate cookies & homework. I bet you were playing so much, he/she also wanted a taste of NV. :D

I wish that's what happened. She accidently pulled my Xbox off the table while I was playing and now my game has a circular groove.

Yesterday I discovered that my Xbox has quit working altogether now too. At least I don't have to be tempted to deal with self nerfing my way through FO3.

You had me going for a second. Nice one.

I like them both. They both have things that the other doesn't. For instance, I never liked just having the >< on my screen to aim with. So having actual iron sights in New Vegas is a HUGE selling point for me. It's to the point where I rarely ever use VATS. I loved the music in Fallout 3 much more though. The actual background score that plays while you explore the Wasteland is much, MUCH better than the one in New Vegas. I think that's mainly because they took music from the original Fallout and put it with New Vegas. Also the music on the radio is much better in Fallout 3. There's only a couple of songs I like to hear in New Vegas. Which are barely played and the rest of the songs are being shoved down your throat. The Hard Core mode is a lot of fun. It makes everything more challenging and brings more tactics into play. I also like how you can run around from place to place without getting into a fight every 30ft. That's one thing that drove me crazy about Fallout 3. You could literally have a Death Claw or two just sitting outside of Megaton. Not to mention the amount of hit points enemies had at higher levels. They just became bullet sponges. They weren't all that dangerous, you just had to dump tons of ammo in them. I also like only getting perks every other level. In Fallout 3, you just end up taking perks simply because you can. Over half of the perks you take in Fallout 3 are luxuries. In New Vegas, you really have to choose wisely about what you're going to take. Plus their requirements are a bit higher. Not to mention the amount of Skill Points you're given in Fallout 3 is ridiculous. You really don't have to focus your SPECIAL towards any kind of particular build. You can easily max out every single skill in Fallout 3. Something that takes away from the challenge and experience. I loved the Metro Tunnels in Fallout 3 though. I loved creeping through them, slowly moving up to corners, and rounding them while aiming my weapon in case a Feral Ghoul would be there to lunge at me. I loved just sneaking up to Ghouls and silently taking them out with my Trench Knife or Perforator. That's one gun I wish I could have taken to the Mojave. Each game has their pros and cons between them. I loved Fallout 3 and thought that New Vegas wouldn't get a hold of me the same way it did. I was wrong though. Even with the issues I have with New Vegas, I would take it over Fallout 3.
