Second highest rated game?

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 2:16 am

Well today i was looking at the games with the highest rating on the 360 marketplace, when i see Skyrim. In second. Second? I thought it was hilarious that its not even out yet and people think its the second best game on Xbox. (first was fallout 3 btw)

I'm not sure how you rate a game that hasn't shown any gameplay or even has their minimum specs yet <_<

But I guess that shows you how awesome of a game it is. It isn't even out yet and yet it's the second best 360 game :celebration:

It seems strange that Microsoft would let you rate a game that hasn't been published yet - how was the rating determined? If it has something to do with popularity I could see all of the buzz around the game pushing it to the top.

It'll be a couple months or so before the "Thank you devs for making this amazing game regardless of the fact i've never played it". Now i have a belief this game will be good because it was made by devs who are good at making games. Now i'll attest to the quality of Skyrim when i've played it, untill then we're just speculating on the quality of the game so please lets try to prevent the "Game worship" threads before the game is even out.

I don't think the advertising has been that intense so far. If anything this tells me Oblivion, for all its faults and the bashing it has received, proved a very good game that people loved. So, even with the little they know about Skyrim, they're excited and believe will be a great game.

I think microsoft is pulling an Avatar. They marketed Avatar as the greatest movie of all time even though it wasn't (great movie but not the best) and it grossed the most money of any movie ever. So yeah....

People can just rate games on the Marketplace. No doubt the only media available for Skyrim at this point is the debut trailer, but people can still rate it and hype it and it gets an average rating based on that.

I doubt that many people even know about it, the only way someone would have found out is if they read GI or saw the VGA's
also it wouldn't even be rated correctly, we have seen 20 screenshots and no gameplay footage

People rate games by giving it a star rating from 1-5 and it makes an average. And about 3000+ people voted for it.

Nope, by enough too make it the 2nd highest rated game on Xbox Live, that must be quite a bit.
