Post » Thu Mar 31, 2011 1:19 pm

I am so hyped up for the Elder scolls 5!!!

anyone on these forms going to replay oblivion? I am going to and I think I will play as a Nord.....

Oddly I just finished FONV last week and fired up OB this weekend for the 1st time in over 2 years! Been having grand old time with a new character and then the news about ESV came out. Weird. Anyway... OB is still such a great game. Love it.

Actually, my first character is exactly the same as his. I got everything in the arena, finished the Nine quest series and promoted to the archmage. After that, I found too insufficient Magicka can be used then started over

Maybe - if I can somehow greatly reduce the number of mods that are neded to improve aspects of Oblivion.

I get frustrated having to install it, then dl Unofficial packs, then OMM, then OBSE, then something to 'arrange' the order they are loaded (bash / wrye whatever), THEN the actual mods indeed...

I have to play Daggerfall and / or Arena a dozen times, before I get bored and gather the courage to try all that...

After playing the PS3 version for almost two years, just got a gaming PC and am trying that platform for the first time. Selectively adding mods to improve textures and lighting, add more immersive game mechanics and magic, and similar tweaks. It's like a whole new game for me, so heck yeah I'm starting a new character! Besides, Oblivion is a classic that will stand the test of time, even after TES V comes out next year.

I'll probably do another Elder Scrolls playthrough just as I did for my Dark Elf spellsword, playing through: Arena -> Daggerfall/ Battlespire -> Morrwind/ Bloodmoon/ Tribunal and finally on to Oblivion; I usually roleplay them as being incarnations of the previous champion. It's a really awesome thing to do and gives a nice sense of achievement. I'm not sure what class or race to play though, maybe I'll be a Nord just for the sake of Skyrim. :D

Except for a brief period when I toyed with FO3, I have not stopped playing Oblivion for the past sixteen months or so. So no fresh starts for me.

No fresh starts here either. I've been playing OB since summer '07, and with the same character since April '09. No end in sight.

I started a new game a few days ago and because I'm so excited about Skyrim I decided to play as a Nord for the first time (I've never played as a Nord in either Morrowind or Oblivion. I almost always play both games as a Dunmer.).

Yes. I've finally gotten around to playing as a Dark Elf, having been an Imperial, Khajit, Orc, and Nord. He is born under the sign of the Thief and is a Battlemage. I had wanted to use more magic on my next game, but I didn't want to rely solely on magic. I haven't played Oblivion since February. It's good to be back. The scenery alone is worth playing Oblivion over and over again.

All you people starting new Nord characters can sign up for the Deadliest Warrior tournament I'm hosting. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1150863-deadliest-warrior-of-oblivion-sons-of-skyrim-tournament/

We have 9 people signed up but we need 16 so there are 7 free spots left.

It doesn't matter how low your level is, the rules are designed so that everybody has a fair chance of winning ... as long as they have a well built class and pick the right spells and equipment. ;)

Considering it is just under 11 months efore release, and that I won't buy Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim until a well patched version comes out (GOTY or such), I'll definitely be playing. I did actually just start a new character. I have never completed the MQ, so I am going to use this one to do that. I play "dead-is-dead", so it may take a while....but I have plenty of time.

I just started a new file on Christmas Eve. I'm playing as an Altmer, trying out the pure mage thing. I don't know if I'll be a Nord on Oblivion, I didn't really like them in Morrowind or Oblivion. I probably will play one in Skyrim, however, because I'm sure there going to put more attention into making the Nords. On Oblivion the Nord-male voice-overs were annoying.

I made the decision for a second play through the day I heard about Skyrim. I've only played through once and with only one character (see avatar for her image). I actually finished just a few months ago. The second play through has some rules:

  • No fast travel.
  • Attempt to finish all quests that fit with my character (i.e. nothing evil).
  • Finish by 11-11-11.

I'm looking forward to this next year a great deal. Last play through took me three years, but that was a lot of on/off play time. I figure since I kind of know what I'm doing, it shouldn't take so long.

I had a character named Sepht Volturi, i reached level 12 only.
Sepht was a Nord born under the sign of the Warrior, he carry a sword.
then i restart the game with something new: Veronica Volturi, an Imperial born under the sign of the Assassin carrying a Bow.
so if u restart the game create something new! :)
