Question on one of Vivec's physical details

Post » Fri Apr 01, 2011 8:04 pm

Does anyone know the colour of Vivec's eyes? I want to know as that I am working on an photo manipulation of him. I am not far enough in my game to check and I can't find any good pics, that are close enough, of an unmodded version of him nor do I know where I can find a good physical description of him.

Thanks

From looking at the face texture, I'd say that they're a golden-brown colour. I'm not sure that it would really be considered 'legal' to post the texture, so I'm not going to do that.

If I recall correctly, his eyes are yellowish brown.

Thank you, orginally I was going to make his eyes blue and red. But I wanted to make him look accurate.

Thanks again.

He is half dunmer half chimer so I would say one eye red the other blue (as you can see on http://www.elderscrolls.com/images/codex/fiction_sermon1_center.jpg)

Indeed, and I dont think you have to worry about copyright and such as long as you wont publish it in some way.

I think that if he will make him with one eye blue and the other red it won't be mistake - it is logical and the picture I posted was made by MK.

I reckon that most would suggest that Vivec's Chimer side would look similar to an Altmer, which I can more or less agree with. However, I somewhat disagree with the blue eye. It seems to me that the colour would be inspired by a woefully clich? DnD trope in which High Elves stereotypically have blond hair and blue eyes.

Even disregarding my own aesthetic reservations, most Altmer do not remotely look like what I describe above. Morrowind's character models - in which I put more faith than Oblivion's do-it-yourself make-up box - portray the Altmer as generally having brown or black eyes, with the lightest variety being a kind of ochre yellow.

And, frankly, a blue eye would be kind of ugly, if you asked me.

How come? I think he looks rather decent but his acts may I not agree with so much.

For one his stare in the picture and eyes in general and second he wears no pants and thats why vivec freaks me out.

I have to agree about the stare of Vivec making him look rather creepy.

But anyway, even though he had the golden eyes in the game, I would say the red and blue eyes are suitable (though blue could also be replaced with another color.) since it fits the whole dual nature theme of Vivec, the way he is shown in the game, it seems his eyes are the only part that is the same on both sides.

I seem to remember in some description, on UESPWiki or one of the in-game books, that the Chimer originally had golden eyes, so this fits with the in-game version of him where his eyes are kind of a golden colour. Both his eyes are gold in the game, even though half of him is Dunmer and other other half Chimer coloured. If you wanted to do two different colours, gold and red would be the best choice.

Might it be that his eyes are usually colored like in the concept art, but when you meet him in-game he's making both his eyes appear gold, or rather his eyes appear gold as a side effect of something else... Like maybe using his water face? OR... Perhaps his eyes are Chimer/Dunmer respectively and the go totally Chimer in the water face and totally Dunmer in the fire face. Who knows? It's a logical explanation for the in-game color, though.

Is that the daedric letter O running through his face?

you could do the goldish thing or blue red, whatever suits your interest. THere's evidence for both, so just go for the one you like better.
