Lol. Go read the forum rules then. But bypassing any of the censors for swearing is against them. You can discuss whatever you want, but do so within the forums rules.
No need to be ignorant about it either.

To be fair, the rules don't specifically state which words are censored, so it's not like he would know before making the topic.

I didn't say the rules specify. But judging by how he bypassed it in his original post, I can say he understands the word that was bypassed.

It would seem silly to get in trouble for using a commonly known movie and TV series title, however I guess the problem lies in bypassing the filter, which is itself against the forum rules. It probably doesn't matter that it's not stated what is a swear word, it's that the filter was bypassed.
I doubt it'd result in a warning, but you never know. Hopefully it's a good day in Moderator-world when one of them reads this thread. I guess OP could always edit it out, pm a mod and check that it is ok to bypass in this case just to avoid a warning?

I'v seen moderator warnings for less. And your right. I'm not talking about swearing itself. Bypassing the filter WILL get a moderator to ask you to change it, or they will do it. This is just saving them the trouble, and saving a warning for it.
The actual filter by-pass is what they warn about. Give someone a foot, they take a mile, so they keep it enforced.

@booty. Just say "a word was censored. , you will see it in the video title in the link" ?

IIRC, they can actually remove links and lock topics if the link itself actually bypasses the swear filter.
They take swears pretty seriously it seems.

@Bootysweat your safest option is to just leave a note to the mods explaining that you're not sure what to do about the whole thing. PM a mod and just ask what to do about the thread. I'm sure if you're polite and actually trying to do something to remedy the situation, they will be nice about it.

Well they take most stuff seriously due to the forums being 13+ (I think it's 13, could be younger). It's more of a "family-friendly" board. I haven't seen much removed link-wise unless it's amazingly serious, however I could be wrong about them taking this one down. But I know for sure bypassing the censors is a big no-no.

OP- You could probably say Johnny Knoxville's version, then people would have more of an idea, but without posting an actual link.

And, I hadn't even heard about this til now. I've heard Black Swan was not great, but I think I might track down this version. I love Johnny Knoxville and his gang. Man, that is a lot longer to write -_-

there isn't any profanity or anything in the clip, it's just that [insert word that start's with a J and sounds like grass] is in the html address. it's from some VH1 awards show.

*sigh*

The word get's censored for a reason....
They don't care that it sounds like "grass", and has the word "Jack" before it... You purposely bypassed the filter by adding in spaces between the word. That is against the rules..

13 posts in and not one remotely on-topic post yet. Nice going guys. :P

The video is not available in my region. I hate it when they do that... Still, it's probably funnier if I watch Black Swan first, which I'm still planning to do.

I still need to see it too. I'm trying to coax a female friend of mine into watching it :whistling:

Heeey, half of one of mine was remotely on topic sort of! :P

*Edit* and, I argue my case with another off-topic post. Good going. In an attempt to be on topic, and entirely seriously, what is Black Swan even about? I guess I could google it, but that involves spoilers (read: I'm lazy.) I read somewhere on here it's like a lame remake of Swan Lake.

I loved the movie - watched it at AFI last year

I would describe it more as a psychological thriller with erotic tones.

You might enjoy it if you like Michael Haneke movies, Darren Aronofsky movies, or Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. (or if you're into ballet I suppose)

I watched it tonight, it gave me mixed feelings. Because it was pretty odd you could say.

Well it's from the same guy who made Requiem for a Dream and Pi so that's no surprise to me. :P

If the " [censored] comes up, we don't warn for that. We warn for bypassing the censor by replacing letters with symbols or spaces or such so that you can tell what the word it. We often encourage folks to "just type the word out" and let the censor do it's job. That is what was done. :)

Prior to his edit. It was bypassed with spaces.
Just sayin'.
