New mod ideas, need someone to help me make it into a realit

Post » Mon Apr 04, 2011 10:12 pm

I was wondering if someone could help me create a FO3 mod centered around Final Fantasy (preferably 7), or God of War. This mod would be mainly weaponry and armor, but quests, locations, etc. would be a great addition. I will help out however I can, though I would be of limited use in creation, due to my limited knowledge of G.E.C.K., or other mod creation kits. I can, however, test the mod, give suggestions, and rate its progress efficiently. If anyone is interested, you can email me at j.r.uchima@gmail.com. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but I am open to criticism. If anyone is willing to help, I will do my best to aid in creation and testing, and to teach myself how to use the G.E.C.K., and others, efficiently. I am also open to someone teaching me how to use these, via e-mail. If you have any questions or comments, either post them, or email me at the above address. Thanks!

I can see this going nowhere really fast.

The truth is, people are not inclined to do any work with people who are not familiar with the GECK. Its just not appealing because people like you come with your grand ideas, unknowing of the vast amount of work they will require. What you call "This mod would be mainly weaponry and armor" right off that bat is a TON of work because we are talking new models and textures, which are not easy.

However, if you work on this, and post question on how to do things in the GECK forum, we will gladly answer and help out there, but as for actually helping you with the mod overall, don't plan on it.

Don't take this too personally. Ive been here just over 3 years and have seen countless people like yourself, having new ideas and wanting to make them a reality, I was there myself, but once you realize how much work moding is, those grand dreams will turn to practical ones.

So, the best advice I or anyone can give you is, start small. Something like a house mod. No new models, or textures, no NPC AI or dialog, as easy as it gets. As you learn new things, you can begin to expand.

Best of luck to you.
