Fast changing weather problem

Post » Tue Apr 05, 2011 3:59 pm

Hey all. After a long while I've recently reinstalled Oblivion and have been trying to get it, and my mods back up and in shape. I'm still having http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1085054-mouse-issue-with-the-menus/ with my mouse cursor speed in the menus, but it's bearable now.

I'm not too far along in my mod reinstallation list. BTMod, Vim & Vigor, RAEVWD w/ Qarl's TP, and just now I've tried putting the newest All Natural back in. Now I'm using the latest OBSE v0018 b6 as recommended in the All Natural readme, and installed All Natural as directed to the letter in its readme with Wyre Bash (I did a manual install with the Qarl TP stuff and OBMM). Now, most everything works fine with All Natural. Natural Interiors works perfectly, the light sources are all great though I would like to tweak the the brightness down and don't know what valye in the .ini it references to.

I get the right weather effects, but I get that issue where the weather changes suddenly and drastically when going inside and outside. I've tried the uninstallation procedures on the save BEFORE I put the newest All Natural back in, that is, the fw 38EEE in console then sleep somewhere inside for 62 hours and make a new save and then install All Natural. I even tried repeating the process after installing it, but I get the same fast weather swapping. What's more is to try and help diagnose this I went ahead and put Sound and Storms in as well, so I could at least hear if the weather was the same inside. Rain noises persist after coming in from a rainy setting, but they only last a few seconds before fading. I'm not sure if this is tied into the same weather problem with All Natural or is its own issue with Sound and Storms.

From what I read, this sounds like a script problem, but I can't think of any reason that OBSE shouldn't be working right, it seems to do fine with the screen control scripts and I made sure that only the latest 0018 b6 version is what I put in the Oblivion folder. I've also downloaded the "fix" that's hosted with All Natural on TEXNexus and copy and replaced the existing files in the Data folder like it asked and repeated the above tests to try and solve the fast weather changing, but the results were the same. Please, any advice or help in how to resolve or diagnose this will be appreciated :)

Maybe your mouse issue is related. Did you modify your All Natural INI? Turn on the setting that adjusts the weather to your timescale. Oh, and the default respawn time is 72hours not 62 hours.

Edit: Post your load order with Wrye Bash: Right-click on File -> List Mods -> Paste in post

Nope, never touched the All Natural .ini, and the only setting I did anything to in the Oblivion.ini were the background mouse and mouse speed ones. And I meant to type 72 hours, I'm sorry ^_^; I rested for 3 days (1 day at a time) to attempt to reset.

Here's what I pulled up for the load order:

00 Oblivion.esm
01 ScreenEffects.esm
02 All Natural Base.esm [Version 0.9.9]
03 All Natural - Real Lights.esp [Version 0.9.9]
04 All Natural.esp [Version 0.9.9]
05 All Natural - SI.esp [Version 0.9.9]
06 All Natural - EW + NW + AWS.esp [Version Final]
07 IlluminationWithin.esp
08 MD_Oblivion_Eyes.esp
09 Cities Alive At Night.esp
0A FF_VV_Overhauled.esp
0B Deadlier Traps.esp
0C OBSE-Storms & Sound.esp
0D attack and hide medium v2.1.esp
0E RAEVWD Cities.esp [Version 1.4]
0F RAEVWD Imperial City.esp [Version 1.4]
** All Natural - Indoor Weather Filter For Mods.esp [Version 0.9.9]
10 Bashed Patch, 0.esp

Thanks for your help ;)

You do not have shivering Isles, so you should uninstall the AN SI add-on. Get rid of Illumination Within, AN takes care of that. Screen Effects relies on a buggy DLL, but there is a newer version of it available that you may be able to use. Also, download the Unofficial Oblivion Patch (UOP) and the UOP Hotfix: http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/walkthroughs/baininstallguide/downloadrequired. To test if the timescaled weather is working (after turning it on in AN's INI) change your timescale setting via the bashed patch (one of the tweaks) in order to see if the weather speed changes. The default timescale is 30.

I will look for the OGE thread for you. Ask them about Screen Effect's buggy DLL. I think you can replace it with the new version or something.

 It was the AN SI that did it. I have no idea what I was thinking. Well, I know exactly what I was thinking but in hindsight it was a heckuva brainfart that kept my eyes passing right over the fact it was still there. Removing that got the rest to fall in place(well, 'sides whatever the heck the mouse's problem is, of course). Thank you very much, Tomlong!
