Video Card Reccomendation

Okay.. I know this is a Danish site (duh :P) But you SHOULD be able to make out what the specs in it are:

http://www.computersalg.dk/produkt.html?varenummer=560430&SamleMenuID=24&gruppe=87&Extended=&SiteID=1&Show_description=0&serie=&producent=Acer&utm_source=&utm_medium=&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=

Do tell me, do you think that computer would be good enough? I am a little suspicious about the graphic card, so..

I just picked up an EVGA GTX 570. Came to 400 and change with tax. Not a bad price. By the time Skyrim comes out I'm sure there will be many more cost conscious options to consider, so I wouldn't rush it just yet.

I would personally never buy from Acer, Dell, etc. Build one yourself. Usually much cheaper and if it breaks down you don't need to call a 1-800 number, speak with someone for an hour why you think its broken, and then ship it out to get serviced. I would probably recommend (if you're building soon) .. a GTX 470 or greater to ensure you're at least future proof for a while.

As to the discussion on laptops, I agree you should build a powerful desktop for games and high end apps. And buy a (cheap) laptop for the portability for work/school. (speaking of that, my new laptop is arriving to today, so exited for that). The great thing about a laptop is that its portable, but when you get one with a high end graphics solution in there it kills battery performance which in turn will kill the portability of the laptop.

Yes, you can! It's literally a case of square peg => square hole, for every component. If it fits in the hole, it'll work in the hole. There's a little screwing to stick the motherboard in the case, and probably some more to keep the backplates for things like graphics cards in, but screwing is just turning a little metal thing clockwise, anyone can do it. If you screw something up, your PC will probably both not boot (telling you something's wrong), and beep to give you an error code that describes the problem - but that's mostly for hardware failure, as putting it together is easy.

Oh, and of course, make sure the motherboard is not directly touching the backplate (although most cases/boards have built-in raising screws, some don't) - simply, PC goes boom. But like I said, nothing really to worry about.

It's actually amazing how easy it is - just read the manual :) That's basically what technicians (myself included) get paid exorbitant amounts of money to do.
