Havish - Quest help

Hi,

I'm up to clearing out the tombs for the Fights Guild in Havish, then I discover the lich (Essinder) behind the hidden wall.. and damn! He has 100% resist to Fire, Frost, Shock, Poison and Normal Weapons. He is level 80 with 400 HP (800 HP for me because I got 2x health set in MWE). How is a lowly lvl 8 Mage (using GCD and all of BTB's mods including Settings, as well as Oblivion Magicka regen, Scripted Spells and Elemental Magicka) mean't to be able to take him on in any fair handed manner?

He 1 shots me and seems to have insane Reflect bonus too or something. Perhaps as a melee with stacking health, resist magicka, spell absorption pots; and silver/enchanted weapon then maybe. I've tried dropping everything I have and end up with like, 20% reflect, 75% resist magicka, 20 fire shield, 25 pts spell absorption and about 10 hp/sec from power/spells and then stack some HP pots and spam dispel pots just to survive, and even used Weakness to shock/fire with 100 pt shock/fire spells and nothing, I either die too quickly (i.e. run out of dispel pots) or I barely scratch him.

I've talked to everyone in town but there are no dialogues related to it, there is no other hints in the spoilers FAQ that comes with Havish. I'm assuming he just has to be defeated traditionally.. I guess I might have to come back and try find some of the strong Elemental Magicka additions.

Is there any legit tactic or approach that I'm missing?

(I don't like to cheat but I started Havish at level 5 like it was recommended and would really like to be able to continue.)

I don't recall any secret trick to killing it.
Improve your skills, and level up.

Do you recall what level and what type of character you had?

I had a look in CS, he has 800 health (without MWE modification) and is level 80. Immune to all elements, immune to disease, paralysis and normal weapons (all abilities). Has a constant Reflect 60% (also ability) and summons Storm Atronachs, Dremora and Winged Twilight.

I don't see anything short of a pure melee character with a lot of pot stacking killing him. I guess this is for the Fighter's Guild after all.

But seriously flawed for a mage to fight, he should be weak to fire like all undead and immune to the rest and tone down/remove the insane Reflect.

Guess I'm making a patch :meh:
This seems to be an oversight since a Mage type is mean't to do Fighter's Guild to progress the Mage's Guild, I'm not sure if this quest is compulsory but I would still like to be able to finish it.

Edit: Created a Havish Mage Balance MiniPatch, it's pending approval on PES at the moment for anyone who's interested.
