View Distance & Mod Suggestions

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 8:54 am

Is there any Mod (/construction set advice) that can boost the view distance to a reasonable level? I don't want to install any other graphics mods, really, but this is one thing that I want to get fixed.

Thanks ;)

That's the thing, though - I want to keep the graphics as vanilla as possible, so I don't really want to install something that will turn this:

Into this

Is there any way I can single out the mod that will add long-distance viewing? I really am a total noob :P
Nice avatar by the way.
Thanks :)

Morrowind Graphics Extender does NOT change any ingame models. You can configure it in a way in which you will still have vanilla graphics, just better view distance. I'm not sure about water, though.

The http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=utilities.detail&id=22 allows you to set the maximum View Distance beyond the usual limit.
It doesn't create Distant Land like MGE does, but if your computer is not capable of handling Distant Land, the FPS Opt is a great option.

Also, like Minamir said, MGE doesn't have anything to do with updating the actual graphical appearance of objects in the game. Those are mods that do that.
MGE is for creating Distant Land, and implementing Shaders, Blooms, etc to enhance how the game is displayed.

Ah, OK... but I think I'll use:

Thanks for that! I told you I was a noob :P
