Im pretty sure they learned their lessons, and im pretty sure it is why they waited so long to announce it.

But, I've noticed that games tend to come out on Tuesday, but this seems to come out on a Friday i think.

Nah, this was obviously planned. They waited so long to announce it so they wouldn't have to worry about delays.

Nah, I'm 99% sure this game will come out on 11/11/11. Not just because of the awesome date, but because of how long they've been in development. Yes, I know Oblivion was in development for a long time too, but the developers had what, 6 months to work with the Xbox 360? Now they've had almost 5 years to work with the Xbox 360 (and PS3), so they're very familiar with the technology now.

They must be confident to have given a date along with the announcement, I reckon. I only hope it doesn't get released later over here (UK) as is sometimes the case... :(

given the ammount of time they gave themselves.... i wuld not be too worried. i mean im sure the game is mostly done. now they r probably getting the quest together. adding in any last minute features. going through the game trying to find bugs. they r just brushing up right now prolly. and seeing if we say anyting interesting to see wut they will include. but yeah 11/11/11 is final

I think it has a reasonable chance of being delayed (about 10%), due to the large scope of a game like this, it is hard to predict when it will be finished and playable. if by that date they don't have the bugs ironed out, i hope they DO delay it another month or so instead of releasing it anyway and frantically try to patch it (a la New Vegas)

I think they chose that date for 2 reasons.

1). It's an awesome date!
2). They could release it earlier, but chose a later date as to ensure that it wouldn't be delayed.

why do games get delayed usually? because the developpers were too eager to announce it, or because they wanted to follow some kind of pattern (Gran Turismo 5 anyone?)

Hell, from what we hear, the game is almost done anyways. the only reason they would delay it is to add something big, really big. and now they got DLCs for that anyways

Oblivion and Morrowind were both delayed but the infamous Radiant AI demo was shown in the two year time period from announcement to release of Oblivion.

The fact that they announced the game 11 months before release, and mentioned the implementation of Radiant AI and the other crazy features only 10 months before release tells me that it`s pretty much set in stone.

Don`t worry It`ll make the release date.

Exactly. Or if they just decide to put in some more content between now and 11/11.

(Doubtful in these DLC days, but you never know...)

Yes I think that they will make the release date. They've been working on it for a good while now and they still have 10 or so months... Plenty of time.

Can't really blame Bethesda for that seeing as they didn't develop New Vegas.

I can't imagine Bethesda messing up such an opportunity as "11-11-11".
