Custom Race

I have the GECK,FO3Edit and all the Meshes and Textures for a custom race.What i want to do it it create a race that i can change body and face textures and meshes and NOT change all in game for that race.I'll be using an Asian race female (Because that's what i am) I have spent alot of time getting the Head Mesh and textures right.So is there anything else i need. I was using the bittercup restyled mod but i want want my own. Thanks China.

For a custom race, you would need to go to Actor Data -->Race in the geck, Double-click to open one of the existing races, then in the popups right side list.. right-click and select NEW. Enter a new form ID, click OK, then close the window and save the plugin. Then you can go back in and edit it, give it a name, and add any custom parts like hair, eyes, meshes, etc... To make the race available to the player, makes sure to check the "playable" checkbox on the first tab. The face that's defined on the FaceGen Race and FaceGen Data tabs, there's one for each gender, will become the default face of that race.. it's like default facial characteristics. The geck will show everyone as a member of your new race until you select an NPC to be part of it and save the plugin, after that it'll only show who's really in it.

You have to be careful when double-clicking on an existing race to add a new one. You will invariably mark it as being changed when you didn't intend to. Mine does, anyway. Another way is to click ONCE on an existing race, hit F2, type the name of your new race, then click 'yes' on the pop-up asking if you want to create a new object. Then just edit the mesh/texture paths in the copy you just made. Then do the other stuff too.
