I guess they need to include "Is a cat." as an option on the form in the future...

I'd think that listing a cat under "pet" should be enough to make it exempt from jury duty, though, why would you even call a pet to jury duty? That's just crazy. It seems either someone got really confused here, or they need to rethink the system somewhat.

And now they can put faces to the names! Curses, we'll just have to arm ourselves with catnip and retreat to an undisclosed location!

On topic: I hope this little piece of news doesn't fade into obscurity like all the others, and we actually get to learn the outcome of Sal and his day in court. I guess it's a good idea that in NZ, you have to enrol to vote and that is how they select you for jury duty. Though...I guess some strange people would probably even try enrol their cat to vote O_o
