Nastiest Wasteland Food

I think it would be easier to make a list of all the food in the game that is not completely disgusting than what is. I cannot pick just one thing that is utterly revolting.

I'd rather eat a human then a roach.

...did I say that out loud?

I'd rather eat a human covered in roach salad then drink dirty water out of a toilet.

You might find that you particularly like this meat by the end of the game.

Of course all the food is irradiated, so I'm sure that contributes to the yuckiness factor.

I've actualy heard that irradiating food is an exellent preservative method as it kills all of the bacteria that would cause it to rot. If the food were sealed like it would be in a TV dinner or tin can, then no more bacteria could get in. In fact that's probably what keeps all of this 200 year old food edible at all. I don't think radiation has any mutation effects of non-living matter.

Basicly none of my characters eat strange meat or any insect meat. There are plenty of wild dogs and molerats out there to live on. Mirelurks probably wouldn't be too bad either. I don't generaly like shellfish IRL but in the wasteland I think it would be pretty damn good.

It's all pretty nasty, though I must agree with the Strange Meat and Human Flesh sentiment. My characters would rather starve than pretty much eat anything in the game...and they do. They run on water, stimpaks, and pure adrenaline :P

What about Yao gui Meat and Mirelurk meat ??? thats basically just bear and crab meat (you just have to fight for it)

any way the food I could never make any of my characters eat was Dog  :yucky:

Yao gui Meat, not only does it heal, it increases your damage....so that's my food of choice. But, having the med station at my house, I usually don't worry much about food. And since I never get hurt (being such a skilled badass), I don't need healing anyways. LOL. HAHAHA.

pound for pound insects have more protein and energy then beef. and more then 1/2 of all livings things
combined weight on earth are insects. therefore, plenty to eat.

man... most of you guys wouldn't last two days lost in the desert. lol.

Don't forget SLOP in The Pitt. I think there was a maggot pie in FO: BOS too.

In New Vegas, if you have the Ghastly Scavenger perk, you can eat Feral Ghoul/Super Mutant meat, which is...kinda gross.
