I don't think they celebrate Christmas in the Wasteland. After nuclear apocalypse, I'm pretty sure Christianity wouldn't prevail, and Christmas is essentially a Christian holiday...not to mention the emphasis on gathering with family, exchanging gifts, and eating a gigantic meal.

me too, i was wondering if there is Christmas in the wasteland, there's a funny way to celebrate it. if i'am the lone wanderer i will cut some trees in the north.

Well to be honest not everyone who celibrates X-mas is a Christian. Some people celibrate it more for the family get-togethers and free presents then they do the religous purpose behind the holiday. Besides there are still some Christians in the Wasteland. Look at Saint Monica's Church and that missionary lady from Point Lookout.

I can imagine most wastelanders wouldn't bother due to having to fight for survival every day, but those who live in considerably safe settlements who still want to hold onto some pre-war traditions I imagine would still celibrate it. Like maybe chopping down one of those dead pine trees to hang X-mas lights on like the one that comes with the Love Machine Theme for your home, and maybe scavanging the wasteland to search for gifts to give their loved ones. Food would probably be a problem due to being scarce, but I'm sure they would make due with what they have.

Obviously yes, especially in this modern society, where Christmas is more about food and gifts than its true basis, which is a Christian celebration. We're not Christian ourselves but we still have a tree and a turkey etc. It shouldn't surprise me that if Christians have survived this long in our own society, there'd be remnants after a nuclear apocalypse, but it seems...I don't know, like many would lose faith haha.



This is basically what I figure, they have somehow established their own holidays or yearly traditions or something. Unfortunately at this moment I can't think of what that would be...

....my 2 cents: Christianity does seem to be a force in the Wasteland, still. In Point Lookout, there is a nun (Fellowship of the ROad or somesuch) who dies in the attempt to get rid of the Cthulu-esque book. She also gives you a 'pre war book' that sticks with you...your PC won't sell it to the Brotherhood at the Library (A Bible?)

and, typically, historically speaking, folks tend to turn to Religion in times of trouble. I'd wager in a genuine FO3 situation, you'd see a *lot* of folks clinging to their guns and religion in equal measure.

Me, I'd like to see a 'sandbox' game like FO3 that lets you choose a faith and prosletize. Either a serious Christian faith-based bit, a comedy one (Church of the Holy Donut?), or a more OT/Wahabbi-Islam-style, open-up-a-can-of-whoopass.

You kinda beat me to what I was going to say (about pointlookout) but you forgot to mention that also in pointlook out the guy from the main quest in that DLC who since i cant remember his name I shall call him "Mr. Creepy" any way at one point Mr. Creepy says something about thank god and hal-a-loo-yah ( I cant spell the word for the life of me and I don't understand why its not spelled the way I just spelt it)

My list for Santapocalypse includes some Microsoft Points so I can finally enjoy the FO3 DLC! I've been ever so good this year :angel:

Well today is X-mas! What did Santapocalypse bring all the good, evil, and neutral boys and girls in the Wasteland today?

Super Mutants seem to be made for the season - their Green skin and Red gore bags are the right colors.

I imagine them sitting around a fire singing Carols like "Deck the halls with Bowels and Organs" or "The one day of Christmas" (I imagine Supermutants are not very good at counting, and certainly not counting backwards)

Then top it off by drinking some Egghead Noggin, from Dr. Lasko's skull.

Santapocalypse brought me a nice bottle of Bailey's Moriarty's finest Irish cream liquor, and some other sweet treats. He brought my daughter lots of gifts, though, as is appropriate, hehe

I celebrated Christmas at Dukov's, with style!
