Morrowind Patch Project - yes or no

Post » Thu Apr 07, 2011 7:32 pm

Hoy-hoy

I'm not shure, this is the right subforum. I was looking for this information, but I found nothing.
- All I need is not any philosophy. I need only a simple answer: do I need Morrowind Patch Project and why. What is different? I have Game Morrowind version 1.2.0722. Without any expansion or mod. I thing the game works fine.

Well, I hope for short answer. (My english is no so good.)

Thankyou and good night

Yes. Because it fix bugs that the official patch doesn't fix.
But since you don't have the expansions, you will probably have to use an older version.

Yes I see, there is The Morrowind Patch Project - version 1.2.2b.
But there is no information about installing.
And, can I uninstall it later, just in case if anything strange happend?
And about saving. If I save position in the game with this patch project. And later have to use this saved in game without patch.....? Will be working?

Well, there is a Readme file that explains it, but I can give you the basics.

1. You must copy the following files into 'Morrowind/Data Files':
-Morrowind Patch v1.2.2.esm
-Icons, Meshes, Textures folders

2. To activate the patch, start the Morrowind launcher, click on Data Files and tick the box of the patch. All done!
That's manual installation. A more organized way of installing is to use a program named WryeMash. (Very, very useful)

If you want to disable the patch, you can just un-tick his box. After that, you will get some messages in your existing savegames saying that the patch is missing. Once you save your game those messages will disappear.

To erase completely the patch, you can manually find and delete the files (not easy) or if you used WryeMash to install, it can uninstall the files for you (much easier).

Hope that helped.

If you don't have Tribunal & Bloodmoon installed, you cannot use the Code Patch.
I don't think there is an old version of the Patch Project that doesn't require the expansions, so you cannot use that either unless you install the expansions.
