This "game" was revolutionary for me. Especially when coming from Doom 3 where you just shoot, shoot and shoot. Oh yes, you also shoot some :shakehead:
In Oblivion you do sooo much more than just fight. I can′t imagine playing another one of those 'go here now do this now then go here and do this' after have been playing Oblivion. Yes the quests in this game is somewhat like that too, but having no option whatsoever than to follow a straight line in order to play the game is not for me. Even in Deus Ex and VTM:B you had more freedom.

Of course there are issues too. I have NEVER had so much problem with another game. The Abomb, a couple new graphics cards, more and more RAM, a new soundcard and so on. But it has always been worth the struggle to get it right :twirl:

Oblivion was a revelation for me in how immersive a game experience could be, and has changed my taste in games, it's every genre in one. Of course it's not perfect, but for what it is, it is amazing, and where it failed, you could still smell the potential.

My opnions of Oblvion? When I first played it, It was a big orgism. The graphics were awsome, Combat was different, I loved how I could block. Then after about 6 hours, it was becoming a disapointment. It wasn't Morrowind 2. So for a month I havn't touched it. Then I started to play it and it grew on me. I love the game now. As others have said, Oblivion has it fair share of quirks and faults, just like Morrowind has as well.

One thing I have lernt. Morrowind is not Daggerfall 2, and Oblivion is not Morrowind 2. So when TES V comes out it will not be Oblivion 2. This way I shouldn't be disapointed at first.

I think thats a good way of looking at it Davor.
Another thing I appreciate about Oblivion now, is that you can play on and off for some years and there is always a new thing you can try.
Whether its roleplaying based on your ideas, or combat tricks and help you pick up here in the forums, and off course mods.

Well its been a while but i think i finally ripped oblivion a new.....rectal system. :flamethrower:
I think i completed all the quests that the game offers even the factions. The game does start to get a little boring after a while and a lot of lag but it is playable and that's the main point. I reached level 23 have damn near 10,000 gold and rock out with the imperial dragon armor(nothing special but it does the job). I finally completed the thieves guild faction and that sure was quite a twist at the end of the quest. Although I wish i had a better computer :brokencomputer: I will continue to play oblivion for as long as i can. :obliviongate: :obliviongate:

Hey does anybody know any good quest lines. I have completed most of them all(most of the factions) i just got shivering isles and beat the gatekeeper finnaly. The place is do hard for me yet so i wanted to level up in cyrodill a bit more. Thing is i cant find any more quests that need to be completed. I'm level 23 and cant seem to find anything else to go through. Im done with the black hand the arena and the main story. If anybody could give me some ideas that would be much appreciated. Or even give me a website for some decent mods would be cool too.

Have you tried doing side quests? Oblivion's are pretty fun. There's also an entire 15 quest questline for Daedric princes.

Actually I have completed all of the side quests(pretty sure i have) i haven't looked into the shrines yet however. I did 2 the one with the umbra sword and the one where you make the people have a party or something like that. I think I will look into the shrines a bit more if i can locate them,Thanks.

P.S. I do however wish that you did not have to give such random offerings to the shrines to activate them.

I'm very glad to have played Oblivion. I've always hated RPGs for their turn-based game play (although it couldn't be helped in the old days). That's why I stuck with hack and slash games like Golden Axe and action-adventure games like The Legend of Zelda. On never game systems, it was always Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid and FPS for me. I got a PS3. With the advent of online gaming, FPS games had less and less of a story. I finished the first Modern Warfare game in one week. I was very disappointed. One day I was looking at the games on an end cap at Target. It was there that I found Oblivion. The images on the game box seemed promising. I found a game that was even better than I could have imagined. Here was an RPG where I had complete control over my character. Oblivion is just what I was looking for. From there I was confident enough with Bethesda to buy Fallout 3 as soon as it was released. I even got the collectors edition, something I don't usually do.

I've played computer games since 1991 (not starting until I was in my 30s) and until Oblivion, my favorite game of all time was Ultima VII. I ran across Daggerfall in a bargin bin at Game Stop more years ago than I can remember (I still have it and the beautiful box it came in). I was hooked. Never played it through. It was pretty buggy and the dungeons were just a royal pain. Then I heard about Morrowind coming out and got it shortly after release. I screamed and scared my dog the first time I saw and heard it lightening and thunder. Loved Morrowind (but never did finish it). Then Oblivion came along. I came out of the sewers and a herd of deer ran by and I said "Holy Moly". It was a love affair from the beginning.

Since it's release, I got a new computer that allowed me to use "Ultra High" graphic settings. It was like a whole new game. I excitedly called my husband in (a non-gamer) to show him how it looked. Even he was impressed.

I've never been a "power gamer" and generally prefer non-combat related games. But TES series has enough of a combination of fighting, story line, and other things to do, it's a great adventure for me.

I've always wondered if the other RL female players of this game were ga-ga over Martin as I was and secretly wished they could be the Queen or whatever the wife of emporor would be called.

I eagerly anticipate Skyrim as I simply cannot imagine Oblivion being outdone.

I have told my advlt son that when I am too old and feable to live on my own, my nursing home needed to have the fastest internet available and I needed to best computer available so I could enjoy TES25 in my golden years.
