Do you role play?
- Semi. For example I'll kill people without leaving any witnesses, even if the game mechanics don't care.... dunno if that counts as roleplay.

Do you vary your characters to fit a story idea you have?
- I don't make up a story. I just create someone I think looks cool and just do whatever I feel like.

Do you think they should have MORE speech options reflecting expertise in different area's? (IE Guns, repair, survival)
- No. It's bad enough when I have to pump points into a persuasion skill to see all the dialog.

Do you prefer Action, Plot-advancing Dialogue, Or Cinematic Experiences.
- Dialogue and cinematic experience. Exploration also if it's a sandbox like TES.

Your poll is strange. First two questions are better fit for table top games, but when you're playing a table top game the last two questions are obsolete.

Do you role play? Yes. That's the reason i like the genre. I want to shape my own characters.

Do you vary your characters to fit a story idea you have? Sometimes. I generaly have a good idea about what kind of character i am creating, what their background is and so on.

Do you think they should have MORE speech options reflecting expertise in different area's? (IE Guns, repair, survival) Yes

Do you prefer Action, Plot-advancing Dialogue, Or Cinematic Experiences. A healty mix of it all really.

Do you role play?
No, I expect the game to provide interesting characters and story.

Do you vary your characters to fit a story idea you have?
Above, includes the player character. I make whatever I think will be fun to play.

Do you think they should have MORE speech options reflecting expertise in different area's? (IE Guns, repair, survival)
No, they should focus on improving the dialogue options they have now. More often than not the many options all lead to the same few outcomes.

Do you prefer Action, Plot-advancing Dialogue, Or Cinematic Experiences.
Question seems rather vague. A mix of all three throughout the entire game would be swell. Plot-advancing dialogue and cinematic combined for story-related scenes. I don't particularly like it when a game's story and other key events unfold as simple conversation, where characters just stand there. Since we're talking Western RPGs here, I'd look to BioWare games as a good example of what I'm getting at.

What he said, but with less emphasis on cinematic experiences. And maybe less on "action" if you define action only as real time combat.
