The resounding answer you're going to get here is: Avoid it like the plague.

The truth of the matter is that the game is perfectly fine, for an action shooter. It uses the same engine as the highly-praised Champions of Norrath and Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games, and is, essentially, a post-apocalyptic version of those games.

Fallout fans tend to be elitist about their entries, though, and because it's not a hardcoe RPG, it gets scorned.

If you get it, don't expect much beyond the popcorn gameplay of blowing the crap out of super mutants, and it's enjoyable enough.

I have it on PS2, it's an okay game if you forget it has "Fallout" in the title screen, the only thing I did find nice was the possibility to play as a ghoul, other than that...

Go ahead and get it, it's probably pretty cheap, but don't expect a true Fallout game. If you've played all the others, you'll see soon enough why I call it Fallout POS.

I wanted Van Buren. This is what I got: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUsvYsxMMKs&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMPkVY088VE&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9SzcAvAslw&feature=related

It appealed to the lowest possible common denominator: Big briasts, big guns, big boom. It was truly uninspired.

Designed by a guy who openly thought that "hokers" were an important part of the fallout universe, and didn't understand its humour, its lore, and most importantly its customers.

I might pick it up also just to say I did. Also, does anyone know what the Vault-Tec Power Armor looks like? Can't find a pic of it anywhere. Pretty sure it's from this game.

The story is poor, the graphics svck, and the entire game feels extremely drawn out.

It looks sorta like the body of the Enclave PA in FO3 (pointy shoulder pads solid brick for the body) with like a bikers helmet. I think the Vault should have a pic of it. I know I saw it one there. Seems some stuff goes missing there lately.

The Graphics aren't that bad for a PS2 game, they are better than the Graphics of FO1&2 (Excluding Close up Face Dialogue Shoots, they were excellent for there time). Story, what there was a story to it lol and I wish it had more RPG elements to it, but overall its a good little arcade shooter. Buy it, Try it, you can always sell it if you don't like it.

Eh, I would say that Lt. Going from well don't sprites in the originals, to cartoonish 3d is more like a change in style then actually "improved" graphics I think.

If you're a masochist looking to punish yourself, buy it. If you're not a masochist, or you don't think you deserve to mentally tortured, don't buy it.

Thats a fair enough point there, I liked the freedom of movement in the game, as opposed to TB, really just wish it had have been bigger with more detail (Depth) really.

But its better to have played it and be able to speak from experience than just not playing it and and having someone elses second hand opinion.

I enjoyed it, but I don't normally don't play Arcade Shooters, the only other one I've got is that Laura Croft G of Light, which I won for free in a comp. That was fun as well, I think if you don't take it to seriously its worth a blast, once, maybe twice.

Fallout BoS makes the Brotherhood look like a bunch of poorly-smelling raiders out of Mad Max and not the Knightly badasses that we've come to know and love.

It has nothing to do with Elitist Fallout Fans it has to do with major canon issues. "I was born just after the Bombs Fell, then the Brotherhood came." The game also has the Vault Dweller leaving New Arroyo and going to Texas for some reaons where he joins the BoS.

It is a game lacking in authenticity and heterosixuality.

What does heterosixuality have to do with it?

Styles: I honestly don't remember much about the game's lore, so you might be right. I just remember playing through it over a long holiday weekend when my buddy was staying in town. We drank a few beers and shot up radscorpions with a shotgun. It wasn't bad!
