some questions (maybe noob ?s)

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 3:06 am

hey guys, i recently have been watchin a few trailers for brink and its peeked my intrest but i was wantin to kno about the game a bit more before pre-ordering.

1) the game reminds me of bfbc2, specially with the envolement of classes but i was wantin to kno what exactly does the spec-ops do? i saw he can interrogate enemies, what does that do?

2) can we have multiple characters or loadouts? similar to bfbc2 or cod classes.

3) are there perks or abilities other than the base abilities for classes (i.e. medics can heal players and revive)

4) how does unlockin guns and clothes work? is there a currency or challenges or exp? or maybe a combination?

5) i read they are makin it where theres no insta kill weapons (thank god) but how will melee work? is it similar to grenades and knocks ppl back?

6) how many maps can we expect? and will there e different maps for each campaign or will they be the same jus with different missions?

7) how big are the maps? similar to bfbc2 where theyre big but unlock more room as mission objectives are completed?

8) since PAX was not to long ago, how long did matches last?

9) and last how many modes can we expect? will the modes be playable by both single and multiplayer?

1) Hack control points, enemy turrets, disguise as an enemy, sticky bombs, and spot mines for engineers to disarm.
2) 16 characters, 4 different loadouts a character
3) There are universal abilities that apply to all classes, such as increased health
4) From what I've heard so far, guns and gun customization from challenges and xp, while clothes and such are strictly xp
5) Melee will knock people down, yes. If you have a pistol equipped, melee uses a knife
6) There are 8 maps, and the two campaigns play on these same 8 maps. Resistance might just be attacking, while security defends.
7) They're not as big as Bad Company 2 because it is infantry only. Maybe the size of Arica or Nelson Bay. And yes, more area opens up as objectives are completed.
8) No clue, but if I had to guess, maybe about 30-40 minutes.
9) There's campaign, co-op, and versus, which all plays the same on the same maps. Campaign is just you with 7 computers versus 8 computers, co-op is you with however many friends you want versus 8 computers, and versus is 8 on 8

I'd suggest you read HORSE's compendium, link here.

Huh. I just tried it to make sure and it works for me.

You could try going to fragworld.org and look for "The FragWorld Brink Compendium" written by HORSE. It has tons of information in there, you won't be disappointed.

I'll lurk around in case you have any questions that aren't covered by HORSE's Compendium. Chances are though, if you have a question that isn't in the Compendium, none of us here will know it either.
