Hello, i am getting very tired of this. i installed this game a while back, it worked great! beat the game and everything! really fun!. then i uninstalled, now im trying to reinstall it, it worked its installed for what i know. but when i launch it and i click "play" from the one of the opions "play options game files, tech support" a black screen comes up, then it goes to desktop and i get a message saying "FALLOUT 3 HAS STOPPED WORKING" and then it gives me a link to the update 1.7 and i do that but i dont think it installed because it loads again then black screen then crashes. so anyone know how to fix this for me? so i can play FO3 again? that would be great!

You'll need to add a lot more information before I can start thinking about what may have gone wrong. OS version and service packs, game version, and patch level, and system specifications, for instance.

The correct amount of background programs and services for a gaming PC with Vista or Win 7 to have loaded is no more than a single GB of your Pagefile, and you have 2.7 times that amount loading when Windows starts. You need to get that long list of startup stuff under control.

The second thing is that when nVIDIA released the GT200 GPU generation, they began concentrating on newer product, and ignoring cards such as yours, which is now over three years old. You probably have somewhat "too new" of a driver than can be used properly in this game.

How can it be "too new" because i played this game, on this system a year ago, and it ran perfectly, i have not upgraded anything, so you are giving me false information. also how can i get my startups under control?

Also, is there ANYTHING i can do to play this game again? that is my only question.
