Encumberance Problem

Post » Thu Apr 07, 2011 9:27 pm

Hi,

I have some problems with the encumbrance bar - from time to time it goes to 0. And then I can carry almost limitless amounts of stuff. I played with the "additem" command and figured out that I have circa -23000 encumbrance. I suppose that this is not coming from mods, becouse I don't use many and the ones active don't mess with inventory, i think. Here's the list :

This happend to me two times now, i have to reload about 3 saves back. The first time i've reloaded the effect didn't occured, and i've doing practically the same things as before. I don't know if this time it would work, so i'm posting in search of help to resolve this problem. Carrying circa 23k soul gems in inventory isn't a good idea :D I'm using the MCP, so maybe theres a overlooked bit of code or something?

Are there any commands for cmd line to fix this?

The "_PL" suffixes in mod names meaning that they are converted and translated for the Polish version of the game.

Thanks for any help with this!

As far as I know, the Code Patch doesn't even touch encumbrance, so I doubt it got anything to do with it.

When the problem happens, can you save and reload your game with the encumbrance still messed up?
If so, I recommend you do some basic troubleshooting. (save with problem, deactivate half of your mods, reload and see if it's still there)
When you get your super encumbrance capacity, does it give you a visible buff icon?

Sorry I can't point out which mod might cause it, since there are plenty I never tried in your list.

sounds like something is doing a removeitem for something that isnt in your inventory. a lot.

when does your encumberance set itself to 0?

@Logorouge

When I disable i my mods and reload the game, the encumbrance is still at - ~23k . And theres no buff icon, no burden , no feather.

@RAKninja
This might be true. I suspect two mods - Partners (I've managed to get this super encumbrance when I've reloaded older save and I was doing the same things - after making a quest for Varro and talking with two guys from this mod to be my companions. Without this mod, this problem doesn't trigger - i think, but i might be just lucky one time). and Surival - it adds a daily needs - there are water pots in inventory , states something like (Water Pot 10/10 , Water Pot 4/10 - goes down when You drink) - this is done by scripting, when you "drink" from that pot, script removes water pot 10/10 and adds water pot 9/10. The encumbrance problem at this time trigger at random moments .

These 2 are my two shots, i test some more and post what I've found.

Seems i was wrong - the "Realistic Training - Part 1 - Combat_PL" mod is causing this - I've removed it from the load order, play around a hour and nothing happend with encumbrance. But the greeting "Hello, I offer a training service" that belongs to the several NPCs from this mod is now global - every NPC has this greeting! Even MQ NPCs.. Is there any way to fix this? Note I'm using Merged Files from TESTool, including Dialogues. Should I remove the dialogue file and regenerate all merged files?

Never use Merged Dialogs.
Best advice is to only use Merged Objects.esp from TESTool and Mashed Lists.esp from Wrye Mash.

A simple repair/update of you Save file in Mash should clear away the dialog problem. (after getting rid of MergedDialog)
