I recommend waiting for Unholy Darkness - that mod looks awesome.

I like http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1084936-wipbeta-the-vampire-experience-thread-four/

It really depends on what you want in a vamp mod. However, the one I linked is highly customizable. From what sort of penalties you want for operating during daylight hours (from silence, weakness, damage, paralyzed or none at all)

You can try and sweet talk npcs into letting you sip on their blood, you can even turn npcs into vampire followers. I'd note its still in beta, but its still very stable.

edit: Forgot to mention it also gives you toggle for enhanced jumping/sprinting/nightvision/life detection. And there are vampire hunters if you get careless.

As long as it doesn't have some tomato-juice-slurping after-school Twilight special brand of long-white-haired Japanimation-perfection characters with emo-style who always say "Per se" and lead tragically dramatic romantic lives and have the sense of humor of a mothball...

It's probably pretty cool!

I have tried, in order...
  • ParasiteX
  • Scorn's Vampirism
  • Aundae in Cyrodiil
  • Nekhanimal's Awesome Vampire Mod
  • Blood is Everything Revised

Of these, though they all have their cool features (Blood is Everything's blood meter in the HUD was super cool, Aundae had some cool powers, etc...) I liked Nekhanimal's the best. Though it is unfinished, it is fairly well-balanced, with easy-to-change (in the CS) bonuses and powers, and it has conflict-free integration with vampire NPCs (who you can now talk to and perform quests for).

The one I haven't tried is that mod on TesNexus whose name I've forgotten that essentially recreated in part Morrowind's Vampire model, with 4 different clans in Cyrodiil who you can join and do quests for. I am also of course looking forward to Unholy Darkness by madmole - the problem I have found with all the others has been that they have been reluctant to establish 'infrastructure', so to speak - no new or edited dungeons, few new NPCs, little or no integration into existing quests, etc. UD looks to change that.

The first mods I downloaded when I got the game for the computer were a handful of vampire ones to try. I've tried Aundae in Cyrodil, Scorn's, The Vampire Experience and Terran Vampires.

Of these I think The Vampire Experience and Terran Vampires are the best. The Vampire Experience is very customizable and has some cool powers included, and the dialogue feeding/turning is great in the new beta. Unfortunately it doesn't have anything new as far as npcs or quests, as the poster above noted is the case with most.

Terran Vampires (still a beta) is an amazing mod, and the one I currently use. It adds new NPCs, Locations, powers, and an interesting level up system. Its based on the Vampire The Masquerade series, so you have a choice of clans to join, each with its own unique starting powers. You can train up a large variety of power schools, such as beast mastery or blood magic. Some of the powers include things like turning into a wolf, mist, a swarm of rats or bats. There are also powers that will let you insant travel between shadows, create shadow constructs, or control the weather. There is a quest based system for turning into a Terran Vampire, which is instituted, but seems to be the only one so far working in the currently available build. My only problem with this one is that it forces the VTM weight of the sun mechanic on you, and you either have to sleep during the day, or expend a lot of blood to stay awake (and this is only for a temporary reprieve). The sun also does significant damage to you and you have no option to negate or alleviate this.

Unholy Darkness looks like it could be very very good as well, but recently progess has slowed down so it may not be released for some time yet.
