Multiplayer/Singleplayer Format Question

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:54 am

First up, hey; this is my first post.

Question: I've heard alot about how SD are "blurring the lines between online and offline play" with Brink, and how you can transition from an all-bot to a fully online campaign seamlessly. What I'm wondering is whether or not the eight online campaign missions are the only multiplayer gametypes available.

Keeping in mind that the eight missions are all objective-based with different objectives, I personally think the campaign's enough to keep it from getting samey. That being said, I can still definitely see some people putting the game's multiplayer down because they think it'll get stale if it doesn't give a "Play X gametype on Y map"-style multiplayer experience.

TL;DR: Is online campaign the only multiplayer available, or is there information to say that there'll be more than just that as an option?

I've watched/read as many interviews as I can find (andsearched the forums), and everybody is sorta vague on this topic; I'm yet to find a definite answer.

Well you can't get a definite answer because the game isn't out yet.

But from what I've seen there will be Singe Player, Multiplayer, Free Play mode, Stop Watch mode, and I think a Challenge Mode? I'm not sure about Challenge Mode.
And there will be no single game type (ie. TDM, CTF, FoF, SnD, CTT, etc.). Those will all be implimented into the multiplayer/single player.

Also more online options than campaign to answer your question.

Hey guys, thanks for all the answers and welcomes.

Read the Brink compendium, and it answered a few other questions I had too :D

You only wrote two half-paragraphs and included a TL;DR? Sheesh, you must have come a terrible forum community. I got slammed all the time for writing (well-written and thoughtful) walls of text on Bungie.net, which I guess I can sort of understand, but I still think people posting TL;DR in response to a topic is reflective of a poorly cultured and willfully uneducated community. Next thing you'll know, we'll have TL;DR for single sentences.

TL;DR: I hate TL;DRs. :flame:

... I think I win an award for irony fail?
