I can tell you if you are using blender
1. get your model and import it into blender, if it is not already there
2. move your model were you want to start you animation
3. select it and hit the i button
4. select whatever you changed
5. move the frame number by using the arrow keys
6. when you are finished, export it as a kf file, it wont work if you use nif
7. open up nifskope and load the model you want to attach the animation to
8. go under spells attach and animation, then chose your kf file
9. name the animation to something like, idle, equip, uneqiup, forward, backward, etc.
10. make a time limit on the animation
11. save you file and you are ready to go

if you are doing an animation with a person then be sure to import the skeleton and you don't need to use nifskope, just use the kf file

That comment is incomplete and won't help almost at all if one is going to make a character animation. The skeleton needs to be rigged and armed with meshes, and it must be "fixed" in Nifskope.

OP

I have helped others (including myself, lol) to make character animations.

I collected here some threads about my current saldo of animation related stuff:

Read the whole topics, and try to "get it". Also, study the tutorials to which I gave links in the first link, and look for more. Don't be afraid to PM anyone that has experience with animations (probably all of us who have written in those topics).

ALL character animations require "fixing" in Nifskope.

How do I export it as a kf file? When I look under export, I can not find kf.
