Marriages in Future Fallout Games

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:05 pm

You can marry in past Fallouts (atleast Fallout 2). Why not be able to marry in future Fallouts. It doesn't have to be like Fable 2 where there are tons of people you can marry, maybe two or three. Children?

Hahaha, no. Fallout 2 pretty much shows us that bringing a spouse into the wasteland by their adventure-harden partner usually means their death / dead weight that the PC has to keep them alive. Doesn't help that ya can also pimp ya spouse to trappers and/or sell it to slavery, not to mention all this is due to being shotgun'd into marriage. More of a comical factor, really.

Like wise for child. The time span cannot be ridiculous just to "grow" those toddlers up. Even if they stay in their infant state, the PC have to end up in an awkward position that s/he in a SIM-like state of taking care of the child in a game that is really about empathizing of traveling around and changing the world to their liking doing quests. Two factor does not really mix together well. So no.

Nonsense... just use one of those strap on baby carriers and pack the baby round on the front of you.... possibly +1 to DT when you "equip" the baby, I know me is evil for thinking of babies as body armor :P

Oh you.

Why do people keep thinking that marriage and this "Bioware" stuff is only a thing of Fable or Bioware games?
If it's implemented properly or originally(shotgun marriage with Miria, teeheee) then I don't see a problem. :violin:

Heh. Fallout: Post Natal. Wouldn't that be enough to send most men running?

I'd be down. Cass would have been a great spouse. Oh wait, I usually play a female char.

Veronica would have been a great spouse. :D

And maybe you could have your charatcer married with a child as like a custom background story (there has been alot of talk about that happening)

I say if they make the custom background still kind of general (so the storyline makes sense for every type) than I'd really think It'd improve the game (but only if you can pick an age NUMBER the bar that adds wrinkles was a HUGE disapointment!)

ex: you could be a 50 something year old farmer with a 20 yearold son, and your being threatend by the local gang who kill your family and you have to travel the wastes or something

No as others have said FO2 shows the downside. There is no upside for me. Saving the Wasteland while taking care of a kid, no thinks. FO2s was a shotgun wedding which you don't have a say, you can run out but the town will hate you. Having a family to start with would be very hard to do. We can make are character albino if we want so are children would have to show that. They would have to at least look like us. Then other problems I could see coming up, you make a female character and you already have a wife and kid. I don't have a problem with it but I am sure other people would. Having characters like Red Lucy is good enough for me.
