Collecting Souls

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:01 am

In Morrowind the creature you trapped in a soul gem, their name was listed of the type of creature it was such as a Golden Saint, Winged Twilight or a Bonelord, or a Greater Bonewalker.

They did not have this in Oblivion, all it says is petty or grand soul. I would like to see a return of Morrowinds system where it tells you what creature you caught, I like to collect their souls at least one of all creatures, and several of the strongest creatures.

If there are soul gems in Skyrim, it would be nice if there were a really difficult way to obtain lots of black soul gems.

What was the primary function of capturing souls? To sell them?

I hope to be able to collect the souls of any NPC that I want. I think it would be nice to own the soul of a hated NPC that just annoyed the hell out of me just sitting on my desk.

I find the collection of souls in Morrowind and Oblivion to be a lighthearted and droll affair.

It was for enchanting same as Oblivion but in Morrowind the souls was worth alot more. The Golden Saints and Winged Twilights souls was worth 50000 I think they are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Nobody in Morrowind had that much the person in that game who had the most money was 10000, you could sell them to him, keep them or enchant I did all three of these things, because I ended up having like hundreds of soul gems with no place for them all so thats what lead me to keeping only one of everything I fought.

To recharge your magic weapons. Or enchant new items.

Enchanting weapons and armor and in OB using them to recharge those enchanted items.

Somebody mentioned something to the same effect a week or two ago. He (or maybe she) had a collection of all of the Dagoth's souls trapped in gems. So I did the same thing (while playing through Morrowind in the past few weeks). It made me feel like some sort of creepy wizard. Which is exactly what I was going for. :D
