Help! Mods Not Working

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:04 pm

Okay, im getting mad.
I have the elder scrolls construction set, a few downloaded mods, oblivion mod manager and of corse, the game oblivion.
I put my personal mods into the data folder for oblivion, i go to oblivion mod man. and put the same mods there
The start up page pops up, i go to data files, all my mods are there to check i check only one off and start oblivion
I try to use the mod and it doesnt work
I thought it may be just a bad mod, but i try it one by one with each mod and it still doesnt work
not even the construction set ones i made myself!
HELP! if anybody knows a solution please share.
PS: i have vista :(

is oblivion installed in the default directory? if it is try reinstalling in an alternate directory. otherwise i have no idea what you are talking about. what do you mean not showing up in game like the changes arent there? also are the mods dependant on OBSE? if so you need to download the latest version and install it according to the readme to get it to work. also did nyou put the meshes and textures( if there were any) in the archives in the data directory as well as the plugin? if you didnt that may be a reason why the items arent showing up.

Any chance you installed to Default path.......C:\Program Files\

Nothing works well In that folder. Either turn off UAC (not good choice) OR Install outside the Program folder IE: C;\games\Oblivion

Would help to know Name of Mod...does it require OBSE? Tons of questions but just guessing at this point.

EDIT...I got totally Ninja ed...lol I type slow...

http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Windows_Vista is likely the problem. Install Oblivion into a directory outside of "Program Files", like C:\Games\Oblivion .

Also, have you installed the official 1.2.0416 patch from the Bethesda website? Or do you have the Game of the Year edition?

Mods made with the newer Construction Set won't work with an unpatched version of Oblivion.

You've kept me from a reinstall multiple times, so thanks I guess.

I have had UAC off for four years now and nothing truly bad's ever befallen my computer. It was too annoying not to turn off.
